So, AD waives his 4 mill trade bonus... but gets a 4 mill "job" from Lebron. (1 Viewer)

How is this allowed? Can we maybe get Kawhi to play here for only 20 mill and have Deuce pay him 12 mill to do a commercial for one of his car dealerships?

Sounds like a very badly hidden way of giving a player a bigger contract, but without it counting against the team.

OK, now I want Space Jam 2 to fail as well.
This is a really bad precedence. This nullifies the salary cap and we're back to Boston, New York, and LA being the only teams who can afford great teams.

He is still losing some money as he would have gotten paid for Space Jam 2, but they aren't even hiding the fact that some of it was make up money.

Do we know he's getting $4.1m for Space Jam 2 or is this person just speculating to stir up drama? And if he is getting $4.1m, how does that compare to Lillard, Klay, CP3, Diana Taurasi, etc?

If he actually did get $4m+ for this role and the others got very little, then it's pretty obvious something happened and I would imagine the NBA would investigate and penalize appropriately. But I think the above tweet is just sarcasm.

I really want this move to fail for the Lakers.
The way I see it... Lebron has his best years behind him now.
And Davis is as good as he is healthy

They have all their hope in two baskets.
Great players to build a team around for sure, but still need the pieces around them.

As long as the Pels beat them whenever they meet... I'm good! :ezbill:

At this moment in time, the Lakers are LeBron,LeBrow, and Kuzma. That's it. 3 players. They are screwed.

Add in Kawhi and 9 min salary guys and they might get the #8 seed if they stay healthy.

Might.

If they add Kawhi, they are immediately heavy favorites to win it all this year. I sincerely hope that doesn’t happen. I really think it will be either Raptors or Clippers though.

Where is the depth if the Lakers do sign him? AD Lebron nor Kawhi can play all 48 minutes for 82 games

With 3 of the top 5-7 players in the league, they really just need warm bodies. They would generally have 2 of the 3 on the court at all times and rest the other. This is of course assuming perfect health, which is highly unlikely with those 3 especially. I would love to be wrong and for them to suck, I just don’t see that if they are able to get Kawhi. They would probably build 15-20 point leads pretty quickly, rest and watch bad bench players blow that lead, and then come back in when it gets close and repeat.
