***TROPICAL ALERT** Tropical Storm BARRY (previously 92L) (1 Viewer)

Barry may be the oddest tropical storm I have ever seen.
Considering the shape of it this morning, it looks like the algae blooms are scaring it away from the coastline. :hihi:
Weird indeed.

While driving in Mobile yesterday there were a lot of cars with Louisiana plates heading West and East. I guess some are running from and some are running back home from vacations. I have two neighbors that also have homes in Baton Rouge that left last night to head back to Louisiana to prepare.

We would gladly take some of that rain y'all have coming your way over here in Gulf Coast, Alabama.

Northshore is breezy and light rain

Since this won’t be much of a wind event, and more of a rainmaker, it will be better to get a direct hit than be on the east side of Barry.

Latest Euro rainfall from this morning... think we'll see a little higher than that here in Lafayette.

Has the Euro model been the most accurate so far? Seems like it moved slightly west over night, wasn’t it supposed to hit right around Morgan city yesterday?

Outliers are narrowing in. No more Texas outliers.

Holy crap that's a lot of rain.

There were places along the NC coast that got 31 inches in Florence, but those areas aren't quite a low lying as central South LA.

my buddy in Walker is having ptsd flashbacks to 2016. Took 4 ft of water in his home from that rain event and they calling for 20+ in and around his area ( that all feed the Amite river - which is what caused his issue )

am i seeing it right, its going more west? weather undergrounds track has it passing thru laf about a mile west of my house.

I think so, and with a tremendous amount of rain on the east side of the center. Stay safe man.

Get your pirogue ready just in case.

There's no doubt that if a worse case scenario (regarding the rain) happens with this storm in the same areas in and around Baton Rouge as it did in 2016, there will be a tremendous problem once again. Sadly, no amount of preparation can eliminate that outcome if the rain bands settle over that area for a while. All people can do is wait and watch. :(
