Marvel Studios announces Phase 4 movies (1 Viewer)

Here's a brief summary of the Hall H panel from CCI.

I'm personally excited to see how closely the Jane Foster, Thor storyline follow the source material from the comics because no matter how good of a Thor story it was (better than a lot with Thor himself), it ends tragically. So I expect some changes (maybe).

The 4th Thor sounds good, the rest I never heard of and most of the actors/directors I never heard of.

True, but this is where Marvel has built up so much trust. Almost nobody had heard Guardians of the Galaxy. They cast the dumb, fat guy from Parks and Rec, a professional wrestler, and their big stars were behind CGI characters. The writer/director was most famous for working for Troma studios. And they created one of the best Marvel movies ever.
But, it'll be interesting to see if they can keep this going. There were some big name actors up there yet it was still weird to not see RDJ as a part of any of it.

There are 23 MCU movies to this point and Iron Man features in less than 10 of them. He has been a very central character in many ways, but they haven't "needed" him for a long time now.

Just to add to that, that’s what made the MCU different from other franchises. It’s not just based around one character. It’s an ensemble.

Oh yeah, I know they don't need him. He's such a huge part of what they've accomplished despite being in less than 1/2 the movies. Don't in anyway take that as me thinking they can't succeed without him because of course they can. And it's certainly refreshing to see such a diversity of actors and directors. But in a big event like this, with all of their stars up there, it's strange not to see him.

Strange not seeing a GOTG and an Avengers film up there at the end of that stretch. Also, is Blade supposed to be part of this MCU or a stand-alone like Deadpool? I haven't had a chance to dig deeper into what was announced yet.

Nice, they're bringing Hopper into the MCU lol...

Could be because they didn't want to set off the James Gunn haters while at SDCC.

I bet you will get more on Phase 4 at D23 in August. This only covers the next two years. They'll likely drop some more long term info next month.
