Most are commenting on Dak declining $30M, not about asking for $40M. Is the part about declining $30M true? I can't tell.Yep we are going to run with the original story even though it's false.
I don't care.
But is it false? I don't know. Just because PFT was the one replying doesn't mean they are right. Or wrong.Yep we are going to run with the original story even though it's false.
I don't care.
30 million is already outrageous. LolCowboys offered 30 mil per year, which is way too high, and he turned it down.....but 40 mil??? Outrageous.
Did Darnold get traded? I don't think so.I don't see how Dak can be tier 4 on any standard - some of those guys are really struggling and/or haven't had anywhere near the success Dak has had. Carr is a huge question mark after starting fairly strong. Mariota might lose his starting job. Darnold just got traded and who knows. Trubisky just isn't there yet and might not get there. Winston can't stay healthy.
Avg. annual pay of tier 3: $28.125M

This is the correct way to look at itBut is it false? I don't know. Just because PFT was the one replying doesn't mean they are right. Or wrong.
What I do know is that Jane says one thing and PFT says another. Both are reputable and both are citing unnamed sources. At this point one view is as good as another.
Even $30M/year is overpaying by about $10-15M.
Tier 1 - Brady, Brees, Rodgers
Tier 2 - Ryan, Wilson, Luck, Rivers, Mahomes (need more than one year to be Tier 1 imo), Rapelisberger
Big gap
Tier 3 - Wentz, Goff, Newton, Stafford
Tier 4 - Watson, Cousins
Tier 5 - Garoppolo, Dak, Carr, Trubisky
Everyone else.
