This has to be a first for any NFL team (3 Viewers)

Of those 4, I can only tolerate Nantz / Romo. Actually, Tessitore is growing on me a little bit, but Booger needs to go.

Did Booger take a single breath the entire game? Good god man. He was a motor mouth. Just talking to be talking and repeating himself. It was like:

"Third and long so look for the Saints to pass right here to get a first down. Getting a first down right here would be good for this offense. But if the Texans have an opportunity to get an interception then look for them to try to take advantage of that opportunity. Getting turnovers is good for a defense."

Without mentioning any names, the cutdown to two is addition by subtraction. And eliminating the ridiculous bucket truck view has also improved the presentation, or to put it more accurately, has made the telecast less awful. When you miss Howard Cosell, you know things have badly deteriorated.

 Fantastically good imitation. Saying nothing in as many words as possible.

Booger is awful. I mean, rambling and saying absolutely nothing for 30 seconds straight which leaves an awkward silence after he's done while they try to figure out how to outro from that garbage he just spewed.

I re-listened to him while I was re-watching the game, and I now think he's better than Collinsworth by a mile.

The Saints will start off the season by having the top 4 broadcasting crews for each network doing their
first 4 games of the season. I don't think even the Pats, Packers, Cowboys or Steelers can lay claim to that.

Texans ESPN Tessitore/McFarland
"Well, at least we survived, although I have concerns for the children."

Rams Fox Buck/Aikman
"Dear God...not again. If Victor Frankl had heard these guys, he'd never have written his book."

Seahawks CBS Nantz/Romo
"Please pardon the somewhat indiscreet inquiry, but might you gentlemen be available for cloning?"

Cowboys NBC Michaels/Collinsworth
"What no-so-fresh hell is this??"

Well, you could be right about that. Not a high bar to cross though.

Agreed. I just want to give him a chance; he's an LSU/Louisiana guy and I want him to succeed, maybe he had some first game jitters and will settle down.

I was at the game and only watched it today after downloading it, so I had the volume on low at the office and his voice boomed louder than Tessitore thru my awful computer speakers, so maybe some of the things he was saying made sense but I couldn't hear the other end of the commentary coming from his partner so it seemed random and scattered. I'm with you on pulling for him. I'll always pull for homeboys to make it on the national stage.

We’re still waiting on J.J. Watt to get to Brees.

Tessitore is just so bland. And Booger does not have much of a vocabulary so he just repeats the same phrases. By halfway through the 1st quarter, I was so tired of him saying, "I just love what the ________________________ are doing here!"

Is that the best ESPN has?
