N/S Jalen Ramsey asks for trade (1 Viewer)

Can’t believe it’s considered being a diva to want to be where you want in your life. “How dare you want to be happy! Dance for me!!” Ridiculous.
You clearly have not followed the situation. He is whining like a 4 year old and having to be separated from him coach on the sidelines. This is not like working at Wendy's, where he can just up and leave whenever he gets his feelings hurt.

Where does happiness come from? From within or without?

Jalen Ramsey thinks going to another team (probably wants the Patriots or Rams ... a ready-built winner) will bring that happiness. But wherever you go in life ... there YOU are -- and there will be adversity. Go to a great team -- the QB gets injured, or the defense or O-line drops back a few levels. Or YOU yourself get injured. Or something. Suddenly that sure shot at happiness looks a lot bleaker.

Then what? Where will the happiness come from then?

From what I’ve seen and read, Jalen Ramsey was sitting down and Doug Marrone approaches him jawing at him. It got so bad that teammates had to pull the COACH off of Ramsey. Yep, definitely makes Ramsey the diva

From within, no doubt. Tough to be happy though when your boss approaches you and screams in your face.

There needs to be a “poison pill” clause in every contract. You do stuff like this to get out of your contract, for ANY reason, you are suspended a year. Taco Charleton doing the same thing. This will not end until they force it to end. You sign a contract, you play out your contract.
I agree but it should work both ways then.. don't asks a player to restructure a contract either to help the team clear space or take a pay cut when he declines a little.

I’d venture to say he’s worked pretty hard his entire life to become one of the best in the world at his craft ??‍♂️

I’d also say that asking to be in a situation that is best for you and/or your family absolutely does not constitute griping and moaning.
Ok I spent 7 years in college for a doctorate degree and continue my education to maintain and expand my license and still continue to do so long after he's retired from the NFL. You say that statement as if I was flipping burgers and got laid off.

you hated the job and you got laid off
that implies there was a labor surplus
Ramsey is in a labor shortage position
if you hated your job and there were potentially 31 other places you could work, you wouldn't send out feelers?

btw sorry you got laid off
on bs about that - -getting laid off sucks
There's a surplus yes, but unfortunately the field I'm in is actually understaffed and they're forced to move work even longer hours. Sometimes without breaks and now less pay. When I got laid off the it was hard to hide my smile actually. I was so happy and I've been enjoying my family and being happy for the first time in years. It's sad but true. Like I said after the NFCCG, I set up a business and was going to be working on that. Now I can dedicate myself to it and grow it until something comes along.

Also, I think my sentiments are more directed at the likes of AB more than Jalen Ramsey. I don't know Jalens situation but it seems the flood hates have opened. At least for now.

And I don't intend these posts to be inflammatory so I apologize if anyone has.

Nah man I wasn’t saying anything negative about you. You just mentioned you’re supposed to work hard and put ur head down. I was just making the observation that he’s worked hard his entire life to become the best at what he does. Nothing against you! I’m on my way to a doctorate too right now, so I get it I promise.

Honestly, putting your head down is how people get laid off. You're not seen as worth having around because you haven't done anything special. Even if you are the guy who is most reliable, dependable to show up on time, and actually help people. It's toeing the line that keeps the job. If you resist the status quo you're doomed. That was my downfall I believe. But it's fine my ideals never aligned with the corporate ones anyway. Hence why I'll do my own thing. And with any luck(mixed with unbelievable hard work) I'll be even more successful. Wish me luck, that's probably what I'll be doing during games ;) Good luck with the doctorate.

Sure he'll end up in New England when all is said and done smh.

I just don't understand that if we and other nfl fans moan about Pats getting this player and that player, or saying "that's not fair." ...Then how come our own team isn't doing the same thing by being interested in talent to prevent that from happening?

Thanks doc! Good luck in your next chapter as well

That's one of the things about modern pro sports that folks in our age bracket will never really understand. Seemed like things were better -- for fans, admittedly -- when players had less control over the labor side of things.

Either there were a heckuva lot of miserable pro athletes 30+ years ago ... or the definition of 'misery' had changed since then.

Players demanding to be traded is hardly a new phenomenon.

I'm not complaining, just stating my prediction. Also the fans don't directly control what the front office does.
