It is my belief that Sean Payton will the clamps off of Teddy Bridgewater & open the playbook up for him to have more deep options which IMO he will need to use for the Saints to win this upcoming game. Our defense has done a masterful job keeping us in the homefield hunt to this point. But it's time for our offense to pick up the pace & do some damage of its own.

Admittedly its a 50/50 proposition whether the Bucs will be able to put two great games back to back to prove they are a team to be taken seriously in any playoff race. But my money is that Bruce Arians will have them as ready as they've ever been when they come to the Dome Sunday. And if that's the case then Jamis Winston will be out throw to his big targets & get as many mismatches against our guys going deep as he can. Our guys, specifically our offense has to be ready to face this challenge & play a game which could go into the 30s. That means Teddy will have to take advantage of downfield opportunities & Payton will have to open the game plan up for him to do so. There is no overstating how important this game is for the Saints & the amount of separation they can have between them & the rest of the division with a win. If Teddy can connect on just a couple of twenty yard plus passes in this game, it will force Tampa to take men out of the box & allow Kamara &our run offense to take over the game. If we don't, this could be a long day in the dome.

The bad news is the Bucs always play us tough. The good news is we always play them tough, too. I predict another close game. Hopefully we are able to take some deep shots and be better in the red zone. We can't rely on field goals and defense to win every game, although I wouldn't mind if we were able to keep winning that way. Whatever we have to do to move the ball better on offense, I'm all for.

Just saw a stat on the bottomline on NFL Network that Teddy is averaging 5.5 yards attempt. We seriously can't expect our D to play great every game. Teddy is going to have to start making throws downfield.

If circumstances warrant it, sure. Let's see how the game goes before we decide what needs to happen. Tampa might be that game, but we won't know that until we see what defense they show.

Yeah, that drive chewed up a ton of clock and gave the defense a nice breather. I thought that was the drive of the game.

Saw that TQS was limited in practice having him back will be huge. He was off
to a good start this year. Smith caught 5 balls out of 5 thrown to him. He also was averaging 15 yards a reception before injury.

Truth be told....that's his MO, look at the below charts from Next Gen from his last few games in Minn:






What you see here is a QB not taking too many chances and putting the ball in play in the 10 yd and under section w/ an occasional 20 yard pass here and there. While it may not be sexy, it's efficient. That's what we need while DB is out.

what you see is what you get, but payton did say he was going to have to simplify the play book more to suit teddys ability as he was making the mistake of trying to get teddy to run the same plays he used for brees and realized that was more then teddy could handle.

so payton was essentially saying he needed to put the training wheels on to help teddy be more productive and have a less complicated offense to try to run

that should do both in getting less penalties and getting receivers more open for passes
