N/S Strong rumors of Chargers eyeing St. Louis (1 Viewer)

I would love to see St. Louis get another team. That was terrible the way the Rams abandoned St Louis. Those were good fans and they deserve a real team.

The profitability of the stadium will not be in question. It will be successful. Every musical act will make it one of their stops on various tours. That’s not including other events.
As for the Chargers, I’ve always said that has more to do with CBS not wanting FOX to have another handle on another untapped market.
What musical act today is even capable of filling that over rated mud hole up when you probably have to pay 100 dollars just to park two miles away. It will be one of the biggest mistakes in corporate history.

They don't want a team any more. Those people have baseball & hockey. they couldn't give a rip after what Kroenke did to them. They will never support the nfl any more.

It was that bad Kyle? I remember Browns fans were incensed when the team moved in the middle of the night to Baltimore

This is a completely different situation. The Rams sold PSLs to tens of thousands of St. Louis people for ten thousand dollars a pop. Then used a loop hole in the stadium agreement to pull the team out of town. You want to see how the average St. Louis citizen feels? watch this.

It’s Los Angeles. Every artist is gonna make that stadium a stop. It’s also gonna host UFC and boxing fights.

They’re getting hyped about their new XFL team.

I know it's popular to bash LA, but you can't really blame this one on "LA not being a football town". this one is on the NFL and the Chargers management. when they were looking to move, there was NO indication that anyone in LA even gave a #### about the Chargers, yet they went ahead and moved them there anyway. it's really no surprise that the Chargers can't get any support in LA, because they didn't have any support before that.

there are plenty of people in LA that love football, they just don't love the Chargers or Rams. even in the pictures posted in this thread, there's plenty of fans...they just wear other colors.

Just because it's the city that sells entertainment doesn't mean it's the city that buys entertainment. If the league understood this they wouldn't have wasted 7 billion dollars.

Yeah...St. Louis should tell Roger pay up for the years of lost revenue, between the time the Rams left and the Chargers arrive. ??

L.A. is already a stop that every act preforms in.

The only way the nfl expands like that is if we take 6 CFL teams and add a Mexico city franchise and 1 more in the states.

Not necessarily. It would take the owners overruling the smaller group of owners who desperately resist expansion into cities they consider their “turf.”

So, let's think about the irony of all of this. So, the NFL re-aligns its divisions so that they are geographically logical to the other teams. within their division. A few years later, the NFL sends 2 teams to LA, one from SD and one from SL. Then they send the team in LA that was from SD to SL. So, "lets meet in LA then send one back to SL". It was basically a swap in LA, which now throws the alignment of the divisions off since SL will be in AFC west. Goodell is a joke.
