I like Joe.
I like Cris C.

It’s odd how much people say they don’t like them.

They are smart. They call great games.

And saying Collinsworth is “swarmy”?

That’s just bizarre and jealous.

The guy is the lead football announcer for a reason......and he’s hysterical when he talks about hearing that “Joe the Plumber” hates him because he said something critical (albeit honest) about his team.

I don't mind him myself but I think the thing with Collingsworth is more his tone of voice and has these expressions that can come across a bit like "I'm better and smarter than you"

Bob Costas is kinda the same way

I don’t think there’s much love out there for Joe Buck. I just saw a video on Facebook but I don’t know how to post it here. The video was from the Astro’s game Saturday and this guy Chris Gillman who is a car dealer in Houston has great seats behind home plate. In between pitches he stands up and lifts his shirt to reveal a white tee shirt with black letters that reads Joe Buck Sucks.

I'm perfectly fine with Joe Buck. Don't get the hate.

Not to mention his criticism of the city of New Orleans for making it a priority to get the Superdome back in playing shape after Katrina. He showed his ignorance on how the city works.

Yeah I know people say that but I can’t figure out what can be said that you would take away as “I’m smarter than you”

Could you provide a quote?

In addition, he has no problem calling out negatives....which so many are afraid to do.

And he’s SO complimentary of the Saints, Sean, Drew, and New Orleans in general.

I like Joe Buck. If you've ever heard his guest interview on Howard Stern you'd get an hour long glimpse into his non-commentator personality and he comes off as a pretty cool cat. He even does a play by play of one of Howard's overweight staffers eating a McDonald's breakfast which is pretty hilarious.

Agreed. He’s FOX’s #1 play-by-play guy for a reason. I enjoy both he and Aikman when they’re calling games. Some people just can’t be satisfied.

The only one I've seen that people consistently like around here is Romo. While he gets a bit of too explain-y at times, he definitely good.

I honestly feel like the reason most people hate the commentators is because they don't cream their jeans for the Saints. They doňt know every detail or context of every situation, and they remember it with as much pettiness as they can.

I'm not taking shots at fans, it's just the bias in us fans that cause them to be remember every thing they do badly/wrongly about the Saints.

Like I said I think it’s not so much what he says it’s how he says it

I like Collingsworth but I can see why some people don’t

I do think it’s more his tone than anything else

I actually like Joe Buck.

One of the guys I work out with at the gym is very good friends with him.

I swear everytime a PI play happens in one of Joe's games he's calling he always mentions the fact how we were screwed in the NFCC game.

It's for that reason that I like him, I just think he does a great job announcing games.
As hard as Joe Buck works at his trade, he will never be as loved and appreciated as his dad, Jack Buck was.
Jack Buck was humble, he was funny, and he routinely brought sick kids from the Children’s Hospital into the booth with him, to enjoy the games.
As Jack Buck’s Parkinson’s Disease progressed, he still stood in the middle of Busch Stadium & gave one of the best speeches EVER, regarding the 9/11 tragedy.
I read Joe Buck’s book, and he freely admits that he has had a ton of screw ups in his life. In fact, the last line in the book is, “I am an idiot.”
I really appreciated the fact that Joe was so honest about how heartbreaking it was to watch his dad suffer for 7 months in the hospital, before he died. Joe said that his dad was so unhappy & hallucinating, that he wished he did not have to live through that for so long.

Troy Aikman.......”my favorite story of the season, is Teddy Bridgewater.” ???

Bob Costas used to do a great job during the Olympics, he did his research, & had some insightful interviews with the athletes.
Unfortunately he started giving HIS opinion on controversial topics on SNF, and NBC gave him the boot.
Sometimes I wonder, if because he is 5’5, he has that “short man’s syndrome” and comes across like, “everyone listen to my opinion, because I am the most knowledgeable person in the room.” ???

I might have misread the disgust with Buck but to me it’s still funny.
