Saints interested in WR Emmanuel Sanders? (1 Viewer)

So an achilles is a minor injury? His recovery has been remarkable, but it's far from a minor injury.

Im guessing he meant a minor injury this season. The achilles was last season and definitely wouldn't qualify as minor.

Anyways, go Chiefs!

I agree. He has been right more than wrong this year and last. I follow him on twitter and he's a good follow. I still haven't really been able to forget that whole ordeal he was involved in with credit card fraud or whatever it was. Still has no effect on how reliable his information is though, so he's good in my book for what I want from him. And all I want from him is Saints scoops.

Bryan isn't a normal poster. He was the first person I saw to suggest that Sheldon Rankins would be back as soon as he was. There's been several times when he was hours ahead of national reporters for breaking news. Like he called the Michael Thomas extension right before it happened.

A time or two you can say he's just really good at guessing. But he's been very specific. If you can tolerate soem of his more off the wall antics and he's pretty NSFW most of the time, but he's a legit insider. He just doesn't care about looking good for public consumption.
To your point, I think it is important to say two things. First, a lot of these matters tend to be very fluid. You could hear something and it could easily change within hours. This is especially true when dealing with the Saints top brass because they are constantly collecting info and evaluating situations. In any case, I believe strongly it is better to have multiple contacts to cross-check info but that is not possible for everyone. A lot of good reporting depends on the source.

Second, Bryan gets good info and he gets bad info. Typically, this happens when your sources are those persons getting the info secondhand rather than straight from the horse’s mouth. The reality is everyone has gotten bad info. This is why I’m not critical of Ian Rap. What I will say about both, however, is that they tend to get info and can sometimes rush to put it out. Better to ”confirm@ something else someone has reported than to have to squirm because you got it out there too quickly. Bryan has gotten better about this. And again this is especially true when dealing with the Saints because they’ll flip the script.

Lastly, things can easily get lost in translation. For example, we want to upgrade the receivers. Let’s get a list of who we think is available and the fit. Someone sees list, believes a name on that list is a target. Runs with it only to find out there’s no interest. Saints will discuss nearly every scenario but doesn’t always mean they will go in a certain direction. They discussed Antonio Brown last year down to the fit and it looked like there might be interest, which led a lot of people to believe it was the case. But there was absolutely none as Brown was seen as social path. So just because it is discussed doesn’t mean it is the move.

Oh, one other thing. Sometimes the Saints might reach out to another team—make the call—just to gauge the value relative to another player who might interest them. Like say for example they want Green and have a certain trade value in mind for him. But they want to be sure on the value. They might say okay, let’s see what the cost is on Sanders to firm up the value on Green. Just an example.

bryan is more right than wrong and has been on cbs/espn radio nola since cbs sports radio was a thing. with everything take with a grain of salt but he is better than most with a blue check.

Agree - and I think Bryan does a good job of presenting the information and telling you how reliable it is. He's not throwing out rampant speculation, he's investigating and reporting on what he finds. If he believes the sources are reliable, he says so. If it's not quite to that point and just something that's out there, he says that too.

Often people want to "get the scoop" and will say something with certainty even though it's not, and those people are junk. But others try to be legit and Bryan is definitely on the trying to be legit side. And if you're capable of following leads about the Saints without "having to know" if it's 100% or not, then he's a great source of information.

Some people can't do that, they have to know if it's a done deal or otherwise don't bother with it. Different strokes I guess.

If only the Dolphins had a useful WR. There's just not that much out there in terms of available WRs. There has to be some way we can add a starting caliber pass catcher.

That is certainly still an issue with me. He defrauded people and caused them damages.

He goes on to list teams that would/could be interested in Sanders, but the Saints are not one of them. Panthers, 49ers, Ravens, Patriots according to Rotoworld

Sometimes it's the teams that aren't mentioned that end up making the move. The Rams weren't in any conversation about Ramsey until Tuesday.

Saw they want more than a 4th for him. Too rich for my blood on a 1/2 season rental.
