They've been playing better recently, and the new offense seems to be gelling a bit. They haven't beaten anyone worthwhile, but wins are wins and they are confidence builders for a young QB.

I'm not overly worried about Murray running. He's not really a "running QB" in that he looks to throw the ball and uses the run mostly as a backup plan. And our DLine is absurdly good, disciplined and well-coached.

The biggest concern for me is the spread vs. our now depleted secondary. The Cardinals run 3 or 4 WR sets on 66% of their plays (https://www.sharpfootballstats.com/personnel-grouping-frequency.html). So we're going to have 5 and 6 DBs out there most of the game. Kingsbury will try to exploit that.

I'm expecting a tougher game than most probably are.

But if I'm being honest I mostly just wanted to post this:

This is the first game all season that I’m not worried about in the least. Which may be cause for concern in itself......but I feel like our defense is going to eat this kid alive. Their O line is terrible. The second Murray takes the snap, he’s chopping his feet. He’s gonna get destroyed. 2 sacks a piece for Jordan and Davenport. 1 a piece for Davis, CGJ, and Rankins. Field day for our defense coming up

I'll wait for the injury report before I make any type of analysis on this game.

This game with a healthy and active Kamara/Cook/Hendrickson/Tre'Quan / Brees (active even as a backup?)

plays out completely different, than this game without those players and Apple out for a week.

Brutal timing getting them with our CB situation. Any other week wouldn't be so bad. They play more full wideout sets than anyone. But Lattimore and Crawley are our outside options with Hardee in reserve. Gardner-Johnson and Hampton in the slot (or Hampton deep and Bell in the slot). We have just enough available bodies but we can't afford another injury. Hopefully at least one of our injured DBs can make a surprise early return this week.

Ur hate for all things OU feeds you, don't it?

Good.

Good.

Let it flow.

Anyone know if PRob's injury is serious?

This season has shaped up that we must fight and scrap all the way to our bye week. But most of the injuries seem to be of a nature that we will be just about as healthy as any team around after the bye. I'm ok with going out and getting in one more scrape. And honestly I doubt it will be all that.

I’m sure our Dennis Allen will use pretty much the same plan he used for Seattle and Wilson. Murray plays like Wilson without the experience and knowledge, but same athletic ability and arm. I’m sure he’ll work some coverages to confuse the Rookie and the D-lone will keep him contained and under pressure.

I hope we win. Just please be nice to Murry!!!! lol

I think that Payton may bench CGM and Murray just for the added challenge
