- Saints block a punt, can't fall on it, gets batted out (smartly) for a safety :cheer: & :mad1:
- Bears 102 yard kick return TD :mad1:
- Two missed field goals by Lutz :mad1::mad1:
- Punt return for TD by Saints' Harris negated by bogus holding call - First thing out of Payton's mouth in his press conference was it was a terrible call = :cheer: & :mad1:
- Harris has a good punt return where he's tackled by the face mask. That is negated by an illegal block and 18 yards of field position is wiped out. That's a flawed rule when a personal foul overrides a hold or illegal block.
- Michael Thomas botches an onside kick :mad1:
- Washington botches an onside kick that is overturned by the fumble recovering player stepped OB and didn't reestablish :mad1: :sneaky:

That's off the top of my head. Did I miss anything?

Hideously bad, hopefully Payton gives them an earful, because that simply cannot happen against a team that's better than the Bears. It just can't.

Yeah, I missed that one. We got a partial block that negated a running into the kicker infraction.

A lot of good and a lot of bad with the special teams. The TD by Harris being called back was very frustrating. Zack line and the blocker locked up, just like any play on the offensive line. Both had their hands were inside. Payton said called it out a couple of times. Said that Line did a great job. That's what they are coached to do.

They can technically call a holding on every play, however for some reason they elect to forget about our opponents!

The up and down special teams play will just be a teaching moment for the coaches to let this team know there is more to do if we truly want to be special this year. Against another team, those errors, mostly unforced, could have cost us the game. No time to rest on it's laurels just yet with sloppy play by the special teams units.

But this did NOT meet the technical definition of holding in any way, shape, or form. It was just a completely garbage call. Line executed his technique perfectly. And the flag only came out when the play was nearly over, after the refs saw the result. That call doesn't meet the smell test.

Fairly easy to distinguish the positives from the negatives there.

The holding call on what looked like your normal blocking engagement, I surely won't hold that against our boys.

Lutz missing two kicks on a typically terrible Chicago field is unfortunate. If he starts missing kicks in the Dome, then it's cause for alarm.

MT13 got rambunctious on that onside kick attempt and knows better. We can only hope multimillionaires aren't above a little lap-runnin' during the week.

What was the deal with that 52 yard missed FG by Lutz? Was he kicking against the wind or what? It didn’t come close from what could see.

Our special teams coach won't be happy about this very public post. :covri:

I’m not saying it was. It’s just ridiculous that the refs are still P'Oed at the Saints. Because I can’t find any other explanations.
