The legislation notes that the Mexican Supreme Court deemed the ban on personal possession and cultivation of cannabis unconstitutional last year and that this proposal is, therefore, within reason. The court set a deadline for lawmakers to formally end the prohibition by this month.

Interesting and kind of a huge deal imho.

The Cato 2019 Welfare, Work, and Wealth National Survey finds that a majority, 55%, of Americans favor “recategorizing drug offenses from felonies to civil offenses” such that they “would be treated like minor traffic violations rather than crimes.” Forty-four percent (44%) oppose treating drug offenses like traffic tickets.

Majorities of Democrats (69%) and independents (54%) support decriminalizing drug offenses. However, most Republicans (59%) oppose this change while 40% favor.

I live in Alabama. And it will be legal on the federal level at some point, and still not be here. We can not have a lottery here because of all of the zealots. So folks will be driving to Florida and Miss to gamble and get their heads right once it is available in either of those states. And I am not sure if LA will ever allow it either.

I think LA will. LA is more greedy than they are conservative. We already have medical, and they are already pushing to expand that. It has also been basically decriminalized in New Orleans proper. It's coming.

Amateurs!

Right.... for 30 years we had 3.2% beer....now we got strong beer, can buy a lottery ticket, hit the casino and walk around topless with an ar15 while smoking a joint...

I forgot about that. Looks like its just going to be Alabama and Utah then. The only states without any kind of gambling.
