I'm looking to visit over Christmas- 21 Dec-3 Jan. Just trying to decide if it would be worth the cost to visit due to weather and holidays. I"m currently living in Hungary, so I should have other opportunities to travel.

I've been to Munich, but it was around May, then another time around June and another time late October. I can't really vouch much for the weather during your requested times unfortunately. I will say though that Prague is only about an hour flight from Munich, or about a 3 and a half hour drive and is beautiful during the winter. Hope you have a great trip either way!

I just got back from Prague. I was there over Halloween.

I've been to both and loved both of them. The Munich Christmas markets are definitely worth seeing. I haven't been to Brussels in the winter, but in the summer is a hard place to beat

We did Munich for Christmas during the mid-80s and it was a blast. Very pretty city with a unique European feel you can't find in other parts of the world. Very "Old World Christmas" feel for lack of a better descriptor.

Yes, several times. BRU this time last year, MUC the year before. Love them both. Lots to do, and great side trips nearby.

I'm going to Brussels on Friday. Will let you know.

I'm headed to Amsterdam Thursday hit me up lol.

Never been to Munich but have been to Brussels probably 8 times. Was there last December and Grand Place was decorated up nicely. They were also doing a light show off the buildings to music. Pretty cool.

I've spent a decent amount of time in Munich. Fun city with a lot of stuff to do, depending on what you want to see (I myself am a bit of a history geek.)

Mercedes museum
Olympic village (+ the apartment where the Isreali olympians were kidnapped from)
Dachau concentration camp

not sure how the winter is though, I've only been during spring or fall.....

I have done Dachau. Don't do Dachau at Christmas; it is far to emotional. The Christmas Markets are a definite must see, the Krampus run can be entertaining, especially if you have kids, and if you want to take a trip, the Zugspitze trip can be done in a day with a nice restaurant at the top for lunch and beautiful views of the Alps.
