What has happened to Ted? He only has 24 Receptions on the season. Granted, he's never been a great Receiver, but it seems like this year the bottom has dropped out on him. These are #4 Receiver numbers. He's running at the #2 Receiver right now, and this is not good.

I know Father Time always wins out, but like this? I was really thinking LB or QB in the upcoming draft, but now - unless we sign one in Free-Agency - we need a WR. Tre'Quan is not developing, and Kirkwood is an unknown. We have some candidates on the Practice Squad, but there is a reason why they haven't been called up.

I just can't put my finger on our Offensive woes this year. Last year, during the 1st half of the season, we were blowing teams out. This year, not so much. Can this all be laid on Ginn's shoulders? What I'd love to see is Sean using Deonta Harris more in the offense. He has the same speed Ginn does, and better hands. We really need to try something.

He dropped 2 long ball TDS in the last two games. That would have been another 80 yards and 2 TD receptions. You have to catch the ball to have stats as a WR.

Tre'Quan is developing. He's been injured, but in the time he has played he has produced when asked. He has 9 receptions on 13 targets. Eight of those receptions were for first downs and 2 of the nine receptions were for TDs. He has a 70% catch rate and he has shown to be tough as nails out there. I am almost 100% positive he had a pancake block against Atlanta and it might have been on a DE or LB. I'll have to rewatch the game to see that play again.

Kirkwood is known. In his time last season he did exactly what he did in college. He's a big play guy, catches a lot of passes that are 20 yards or more and catches TDs at about a 15% rate. That is exactly what he did in college and it carried over to his playing time last year.

Ginn had problems with drops early in his career but was doing better until this year.
TQS can catch in traffic, he just has a hard time getting open and staying on the field.
Cook can catch but sometimes has drops when it tight coverage.
Kirkwood is a better option, as a big slot, security blanket but he's not on the field and doubt he has much chemistry with Drew when he does.
We really need someone to step up not named Thomas.

I really want to see Hogan get some routes and catches. I know he is there as a primary blocker and has done a very good job. Seriously he is playing well. But I have seen this guy run. He is very fast. Not Ginn fast but fast to go down the side line.

Ideally you address the WR issue in free agency so you can still go BPA in the draft. And if BPA is a WR, you get another one.

Yep, he's good enough that a team has always wanted him but not good enough that anyone will break the bank to keep him.

I was BIG detractor of the Ginn signing before 2017. But I have to admit, he pleasantly surprised me in 2017. Yeah, he had some of the stone-hands moments that made me a detractor in first place (a muffed punt, a bobble straight into Deion Jones' hands), but he had enough big plays that I thought it was worth the negatives.

Last year, he was hurt much of the year, but when he played, he produced for us. His deep ball catch late in the 4th in the NFCCG should've gone down in Saints' history as a huge moment.

This year, he mostly looks like he's over the hill. I hope he shows me something down the stretch or in the playoffs, though. All it takes is the right play at the right moment. Remember, Hartley was a pretty mediocre kicker for the entirety of his NFL career...except for the NFCCG and the Super Bowl (if he misses one of those long field goals and gives the Colts a short field, we probably lose). Porter was an average to slightly above average corner for his career, but he came up with 2 of the biggest plays in Saints history. I hope Ginn digs deep and has a moment like that for us later this year.

To me he looks a little dejected. It is like if he isn't getting the touches or a play going to him, he is just going to do enough for the team. My thinking he needs to be part of the offensive plan early on for him to be effective. Those long balls or throws to him seem to be a "surprise" he is getting thrown to. And those are toward the later in the game. Those might contribute to those drops".

When we signed him, he was one of the better returners in the game; I’ll never understand why we’ve tried turning him into a true WR2. He’s always been and always will be a 1 trick pony.

I would definitely recommend drafting a WR within the first 2 rounds next year. We need it. Maybe even another TE....would rather have a big WR who has some major wheels.
