Ted Ginn Jr. (1 Viewer)

I would definitely recommend drafting a WR within the first 2 rounds next year. We need it. Maybe even another TE....would rather have a big WR who has some major wheels.
We drafted TQA pretty high and he is coming along very slow. It seems like we've only hit on 2 guys in the past 5 years and 1 was shipped out of town because he got into SPs dog house (WS).

He has suspect hands and his only true attribute as a WR we can't utilize with our current personnel. His speed is mostly straight line which at this stage of Brees career does us little good. He's a one trick pony.

He’s had some bad drops and some where Drew can’t hit him in stride. We still need him to stretch the field, it would help if he starting catching some to keep defenses honest. Team as a whole needs to work on the drops though, Cook AK Ginn even MT had a crucial drop

What has happened to Ted? He only has 24 Receptions on the season. Granted, he's never been a great Receiver, but it seems like this year the bottom has dropped out on him. These are #4 Receiver numbers. He's running at the #2 Receiver right now, and this is not good.

I know Father Time always wins out, but like this? I was really thinking LB or QB in the upcoming draft, but now - unless we sign one in Free-Agency - we need a WR. Tre'Quan is not developing, and Kirkwood is an unknown. We have some candidates on the Practice Squad, but there is a reason why they haven't been called up.

I just can't put my finger on our Offensive woes this year. Last year, during the 1st half of the season, we were blowing teams out. This year, not so much. Can this all be laid on Ginn's shoulders? What I'd love to see is Sean using Deonta Harris more in the offense. He has the same speed Ginn does, and better hands. We really need to try something.

24 receptions over 12 games is pretty much dead average over his career. He's always been a fairly mediocre receiver with elite speed and poor hands. Speed is the first thing to go with age, so I don't foresee him having a job in the league for much longer.

Nonetheless, blaming Ginn for our offensive woes seems absurd. He is what he is, a fairly minor cog in a much larger and more complicated offensive machine.

Tre'Quan is developing. He's been injured, but in the time he has played he has produced when asked. He has 9 receptions on 13 targets. Eight of those receptions were for first downs and 2 of the nine receptions were for TDs. He has a 70% catch rate and he has shown to be tough as nails out there. I am almost 100% positive he had a pancake block against Atlanta and it might have been on a DE or LB. I'll have to rewatch the game to see that play again.

Kirkwood is known. In his time last season he did exactly what he did in college. He's a big play guy, catches a lot of passes that are 20 yards or more and catches TDs at about a 15% rate. That is exactly what he did in college and it carried over to his playing time last year.

Anyone else notice that every time TQ makes a catch, he takes the hardest hits? I mean, this dude has had trouble getting healthy, but it's no wonder when you see the abuse he's taking.

I sure have. He gets rocked and still maintains nearly a 20% higher catch % than Ginn.

What did Willie Snead do wrong ?
Another thread talked about it. It didn't seem that bad but when u get on SPs bad side your time is up.

Better hands? Have u seen all the fumbles and muffs on returns?

I think Ted is nearing the end of his career. I also think he will bounce back for this playoff run.

I think people have to remember Brees has only played in five games so far so they still may need to get on the same page w/ him. Some of it is that but I do think Brees needs to get w/ the whole Offense but esp his WRs, Cook and Kamara (outside of Mike Thomas) and they need to really have a talk and get on the same page. Dropped passes should not be happening at all w/ this caliber type of team. They are all vets outside of Tre’Quan but it’s his 2nd year so he should know better as well.

Kirkwood can help them out tho. Just have to utilize him.

Speaking of Kirk, wonder will he get some action this coming games

What is known isn’t all that bad But what has been implied is that Snead liked to party, even on nights before games. I don’t know if it’s true but it would explain a lot.
