I know a couple weeks ago it was stated Keith Kirkwood was returning to practice.

If that's the case it should make him eligible to be activated against the 49er's.

I haven't heard anything, so just wondering if anyone has any information regarding his status.

We'll have to make a move with him this week. This year we've made most of our roster moves on Wednesdays. I'm not sure which day we specifically have to make the decision with him official, but I'm sure we will wait until the last day possible, because we essentially have an extra roster spot until then.

I believe the team has until 3:00 Tuesday afternoon to either activate or put him back on IR

I thought I saw a quote from Kirky last week (from a charity dinner or something) where he said he would be back this week.

I fully expect him back this week, and I pray that he finally gives the Saints offense another NFL-level WR to compliment CGM.

The majority of folks around here quickly dismiss Kirky as J.A.G. and don’t believe he can help, but I believe in the kid, and I really like his skill set.

The majority of folks around here don't call him "Kirky."

He is going to be the next Jerry Rice, along with Emanuel Butler! We are turning both loose this weekend. ?

If Kirkwood is back it will be interesting to see who's roster spot he takes...possibly Krishawn Hogan

Hogan is not going anywhere, he's secured his position. He came in and took Carr's job and it didn't help Carr that he got injured along the way and was placed on IR. Hogan has had a key block on almost every long run we have had since Hogan started playing.

I think he has been healthy for about two weeks total this season, got hurt the first week of camp missed all of preseason then played week one and hurt himself pregame week two. I’d like to be wrong about him but I won’t be expecting much until he can prove he can stay on the field.

Saints fans need only look at the Patriots offense to understand why it's hard for recievers to come into a complex offense and do well. Recievers must be trained to see the defense like drew does to understand their responsibilities. I'm not in the least worried about Butler coming along in this offense right now. If they were to have brought him up they would likely expose him to being snatched up when Kirkwood comes back.
