NFL Draft Joe Burrow (3 Viewers)

Of course you don't have to be, although a lot of great football players are. ;)
My point was more that Joe Burrow is Ohio's native son, so he won't be sad playing for the Bengals making millions. It's actually a compelling storyline if he can go there and resurrect their franchise.
You snatched that quick. I hate how this saves your posts and then stacks them with other posts.

His story would be good going either way, back to Ohio or down to NO.

You missed my edit.

I agree on Tua's arm talent.

I need to catch up on other QB's. There has to be a good one that won't destroy our draft this year and next.
I need to take a closer look at Love, Eason, and Hurts.
Jake Fromm and Sam Ehlinger are 2 to keep an eye on. I have Burrow and Tua ranked above them, but either could make good qbs with the right team

Yeah, I hate when that happens!

Fromm has definitely regressed.

fwiw, I have a client in Cincinnati who is a diehard Bengals fan and he told me there’s no chance the Bengals pass on Chase Young.

Is your client a high end member of the front office or coaching staff? Likely not and as such likely doesn't know what they are thinking.

Fromm doesn't strike me as an NFL QB, though I could be dead wrong. I'll watch him this weekend, I hope not too long.

Ehlinger is intriguing. How's his size? I know nothing intimidates him, and the game is not too big for him. How's his pocket presence and tight window accuracy?

My guess is that the thinking will be that by the time the draft rolls around, Chase Young will be the clear top prospect and that there will be a cluster of QBs with similar grades. Duke Tobin has been flying around scouting the QBs and I’m not sure one of them will jump out above the others. Would the Bengals be better off drafting Joe Burrow and then ? In the 2nd round or Chase Young and then a QB that grades out close to Burrow at pick 33? Not going to be any Chase Youngs at 33, but it’s likely there’s a great QB prospect still sitting there, especially if they pass on a QB in round 1.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but maybe we start a homicide investigation a couple days before the draft... I kid...

A scouting report:

OVERVIEW
Burrow is a once in a lifetime college quarterback. He has done everything right while at LSU and has done a great job of representing the university on and off the field. Unfortunately his skills don’t translate to his being a lock to make it big at the next level. He has an adequate arm but can struggle when needing to throw a dart on the intermediate to deep outs and the ball will float on him at times when deep passes down the seam. He understands the game and does a good job of reading coverages and making good decisions before and after the snap. He is athletic and has done a wonderful job of hitting the weights to improve his physical stature.

STRENGTHS
Burrow is a natural leader with high character. Played with a lot of intelligence in LSU’s system which he mastered. Was extremely productive. Possesses a quick release. Displays great accuracy in the short passing game and puts the ball in a position to set up his receivers for run after the catch. Has the foot-speed to avoid the rush and buy extra time.
WEAKNESSES
Burrow lacks a cannon for an arm. Can fit the ball into spots on intermediate routes at times but will struggle with the deep ball. Release point is a little low. Needs to improve his accuracy on long passes down the field and toward the sideline.

LOL where did this come from? I mean hey if it'll make him fall to us in the draft, i'm all for it!!!!

Yeah and what round did he take Brady in? What round did he take Garoppolo in? How about Brissett? He's proven that he doesn't need the current hit of the week to accomplish what he needs to. I'm sure he wants a Kardashian as well but he's too SMART to mortgage his future for one. Again it's not about what Belichick "wants" it's about the "smart" thing to do.
Garoppolo in round 2, as I recall.

And then they can franchise tag him twice before it becomes too cost prohibitive. Whatever team drafts him realistically can have him under control for 7 years if they feel he’s worth it.
Unless he sits out the season.
