2020 LSU Recruiting Thread (1 Viewer)

Kayshon Boutte sticking with LSU. Thanks goodness after losing Jarrett and Burton today.

TigerDroppings is having a meltdown

I admit I didn't like the idea of processing two strong in state prospects especially since we didn't get some of the high profile targets we were looking for from out of state but that is the way recruiting works. The only thing is that most states don't have the talent pool that Louisiana does and most universities don't have the loyalty from in state prospects that LSU does....wouldn't want anything to hurt that

The loss at WR doesn't mean much....we have great ones here and we signed Gilbert who is an absolute BEAST. Plus, from what I understand, Louisiana is going to have a very strong WR class next year

19 signed into the class.

Sounds like Burton and Jarret were surprises. Burch was a guy they supposedly felt good about, but never got any assurances one way or the other. All 3 guys opted for schools close to home, which is always a tough sell. It's not the fireworks we wanted, but this is a ridiculously talented class with six spots left to fill. It will be interesting to see who fills those spots after a few key names didn't sign today.

Burch to South Carolina a little bit of a surprise, but better than Bama OSU or Clemson.

Burch has not yet sent his paperwork in to USC...

Also, Arik Gilbert and TJ Finley will practice with the team during the bowl game prep. Both are early enrollees. Not sure if anyone else is yet, but Finley announced on Twitter and Gilbert announced on the radio. Not sure about Ricks yet.

Not to mention that there are several big time recruits who have not committed. We got 6 spots remaining and a national championship is going to fill 3 or 4 of them with 5-star recruits

What's the deal with CamRon a few days ago he all in ready to enroll.

Not really. It's tough to pull a kid out of his home. He could be to Maryland what Kev Faulk was to LSU. Not many kids would see that. Good on him.

There was more to what he said. The staying home part makes sense and is understandable.

There was the "trust" statement as well as the "face of the program" remark.

I'm not concerned about the "trust" remark. LSU signed 13 players from OOS, so that's clearly not an issue the other players and certainly not something the coaches can do anything about with Jarrett. You either have it or you don't. Clearly he had it enough to commit and stay committed up until signing day.

As for the face of the program remark, well that's unlikely to be the case in Baton Rouge. It's also a little shady how he didn't really communicate his intentions with the LSU coaches or the Maryland coaches. I get the vibe that he enjoys the attention (face of the program, telling Locksley you'll see when asked about committing, etc), but it's not something I would make a big deal out of. Recruiting puts the spotlight of these kids and I'm sure lots of them have fun with it. Hopefully he realizes that's over now and no one cares unless he performs on the field.

He's Tiger Bait, now regardless...

Yeah, I agree. I thought both of those statements stood out.

Ultimately he made a choice to go to a school where it will be easy for him to outshine everyone which shows his priority.
He didnt mention anything about turning Maryland into a Big 10 contender...nothing about team with this kid.

fork him....dont want someone like that
