If Peat was so horrible the saints wouldn't be ranked that high. You guys act like the other team doesn't pick up a paycheck.

In the vikings game Peat was dominating his man vs the run and yet Sean kept throwing even though a defensive end should be quicker than Peat. Whenever a team inverts their DTs and DEs you have to make them pay by running right at them.

I can't believe the way Peat is treated on this board. The past four years he has started 52 out of 64 games. He has played in 53 games. Peat is a dominant run blocker and solid in pass pro. Peat is a good player but far from great. Peat was called for one holding penalty and two false starts this year according to the same site.

On the other hand Terron Armstead has started 42 out of 64 games. And yet people on here praise him even though he is overrated. He is a good player but far from great. Armstead was called for 5 holding penalties and 1 false start this year.

They are both good players that help make the saints Oline the best in the league. Why do some of you refuse to give Peat any credit?

Peat is just the obvious weak link. I don't think he's the terrible, and he's better than Easton. But the OL as a whole didn't hold up against the Vikings DL. So at the very least, Peat needs to be upgraded.

A lot of that was coaching and the fact that only 2 guys (Harris and Taysom) showed up to play the whole game.

The same Easton that looked horrible against the vikings. Bonchie you are better than this.

No, the same Easton who came in and looked much better than Peat laying on his back, which has been his go to move for the last two season when he's not injured. Easton also solidified the OL after Peat's injury and helped Brees have the best month of the season in December. Peat comes back and immediately looks terrible again.

I'm pretty kind to Saints players, perhaps too kind at times. Peat is the one guy I hope is not on this team next year. I wish we'd have traded him last offseason when he had some semblance of value. I'm all for drafting another guard this year.

Because #1 he is CONSTANTLY hurt which causes us to constantly have to shift out line. Which most people have tolerated for years because he was 'decent'. #2...he is no longer decent so that patience has run out on him.

Armchair QB's are the best talent evaluators.

Are you not one as well? Was a question not posed? Is this not a Saints fan forum? I didn’t know it was a Saints coaches forum.
Peat is a mediocre guard. And for where he was drafted that’s not good enough. And yep, I know it’s not his fault where he was drafted.

And since when did the truth become a shot?

Even PFF says he's the weakest link on the OL.

All you have to do is watch the OL film, replays of games to see when a sack, QB hit occurs it's usually him giving it up.

It was he who gave up the instant pressure to Donald and got Brees hurt

It was him who the Falcons defensive coaches attacked with twists and Stunts

It was him who was getting smoked by Everson Griffin in the playoff game with spin move after spin move and giving up interior pressure right in the QBs face. (Yes everyone on the OL was getting beat but Peat was the worst offender)
