1st thing, no one knows if they value another QB higher than Burrow. It could end up that Bengals like another QB. When this season started, Burrow wasn’t 1st choice people mention as a Top pick. 2nd thing, Chase Young. Bengals may go defense 1st.

Everyone think this because the Bengals have a need at that position, which happen to be most important position on team. Burrow from area, granting more goodwill and patience to team than they might have otherwise have from fans. He good qb prospect, too. It make sense for them do that.

Why? Why wouldn't they? He's a highly competent player with very few character flaws. His skillset should translate nicely into the NFL. Not to mention he's physically durable with little history of injury. Very low risk pick - amidst a sea of unknown players.

Unless he busts up a fatty or kills someone 2 days before the combine - pretty sure he's #1.

If they don't trade out of that pick for a HUGE haul, and they pass up on Burrow, they may as well pack up the entire franchise and move before their fanbase does it for them

The owner don’t care what the fans think/feel. Remember the Marvin Lewis situation? Fans wanted him gone..out but he ended up staying 3 extra years(maybe 4). So the fan base crying is nothing new and wouldn’t bother the owner.

They need a QB and the current staff doesn’t have the time to stockpile picks. They are taking Burrow.

He’s from Ohio, they need a franchise QB, and their fan base would probably grab pitchforks if they don’t draft him or grab a huge haul in return for trading away the #1 pick.
I was in Athens a few weeks ago. Saw loads of people in LSU gear. They will riot if the Bengals don't take him.

I think they’d be happy dropping from 1 to 2, picking up an extra 1st rounder in the process, and drafting Chase Young.

You think they’d grab pitchforks if they drafted Chase Young from Ohio State?

Yes. The only way this would be acceptable is if they got a bunch of picks and moved down and still got him, but I don't see how that happens unless they simply swap their 1 for 2 overall.
