Burreux will likely require a Ricky Williams like ransom at the least to land.

I'm not even sure what our current draft positioning is , but I'd imagine getting Tua would be alot easier.

Every season it happens , we all fall in love with a Quarterback who's going to be all world and the year after that hes old news.

Dude is nice , but how many of those sure fire guys end up disappointments?

To me it's more about the system , coaching , protection, development and weapons around a given QB than it is about just the quarterback.

Also I'd like to remind folks that a healthy Tua probably makes this last year look much different in terms of Heisman and National Championships go. At the very least he makes it interesting to ponder.


If Drew ain't trying to hang em up just yet , Tua can continue to recover and develop. Sean gets to me what would be the equivalent of Joe Burrow for alot less of a sacrifice with a still in tact roster around him.
 
I have no problem at all drafting Tua if the same doctors that said Drew would be okay say that Tua will be okay.
His injury could push him all the way to #24 or at least close enough not to cost an extreme amount in trade to move up.
He's winner and could be the next edition of the Pat Mahommes type QB, and Mohommes was our guy at #11 two years ago up until the Chiefs jumped us and drafted him at #10. (we got Lattimore with the next pick)

This I don't 100% agree with. I really can't remember this much QB love in whodat nation for any past QB. Might have been one or two over the years, but definitely not "every season", and to my recollection... no where this much love.

And as far as "system, coaching, protection, development, and weapons"... I say, "LSU used a college mock of the Saints system and Joe absolutely killed it. " Then, "Payton/Carmichael/Lombardi" and "Top 5 OL", "He's already almost developed in all the ways that matter", and "Michael Thomas, Jared Cook, potentially Alvin Kamara, and Austin Carr". (we're bound to get another weapon sooner or later).

Tua, if healthy would easily be my 2nd choice in this draft. But it's a distant 2nd... and yeah you're right, he's a more realistic possibility.
 
With this being the year Drew is really considering retirement, I think this will be his last year should he return. That being sad, we need to invest in a QB this year. If we dont, Its obvious Taysom is the choice.

Last year at this time, we knew Tua would go in Round 1. Burrow probably round 4. Now Tua is expected to be the the second qb drafted. I would be happy with either one while Drew is back.
 
Nope, cost too much. Miami & Carolina are in the top 10.
 
Tua medical evaluation likely won't be known until sometime before the draft. He won't be doing anything in the combine except an initial physical where they might be able to tell if there is a bone degeneration according to the time timeline I read about 2 months ago but possibly not until just before the draft. Depending on the evaluation in april he could go anywhere from early 1rst to early 2nd in my WAG.

Kind of reminds me of Marcus Lattimore RB from South Carolina. Although he dropped to the 4th round to the 49ners..

Well we all know that didn’t workout well.

I’d stay far away from Tua
 
Another one to consider might be Jalen Hurts. Slight chance he might be available when we draft in the 3rd round or at least fall far enough that we could afford to move up and get him like we did with Kamara.

But honestly, I'm kinda on the fence about him. He doesn't have the proto-type size or anywhere near the glam of Tua or Burrow. But there's something to him. He's a gamer with some specialness to him.

Wheels on a RB and wheels on a QB are two different things. Sure, ability to scramble and run are two of his glory points, but he's a deadly passer and has the head for it as well. His injury is going to make him slide, but I don't think he slides all that far.
 
While Yua's injury might be similar to Bo Jackson's it is years 35 years apart in medical technology. Tua had surgery within days while I believe it was a week or 2 for BO. They have found that the quicker they can can blood flow back to the leg the quicker and better it will heal. Jackson didn't get that thus the degeneration of the thigh bone that necisitated the hip replacement. They think they got Tua into surgery soon enough to stop that but won't know for another month or 2 so it will bill likely early April before they know if he can move like he used to. If he is even close to eventually having the agility then he go at worst mid 1st IMO.
 
He’s either not going to be healthy and not worth using a pick at all...

Or he’ll be healthy and he won’t make it past the Dolphins at 5 (or maybe 2/3 With a trade up)
 
Yahoo mock draft has tua coming here. That injury has him slipping to 24. Worth taking at 24. Pft said because of dead cap 23m we can’t sign both brees and t-hill :-(. Saddens me indeed to lose either.
