NFL Draft 2020 NFL Draft Prospects (1 Viewer)

Holy shoot ^ I love those takes and prospects, Ironically I was just researching, reading some scouting reports on most of those prospects just recently; and they all make a lot of sense for the Saints.

Heres a pretty basic, but good introductory video going over some of the top of this year's WR class. (Just ignore Devonta Smith as he decided to go back to school)

So here's an early cloud of names I've seen associated with the Saints (24 pick range) in some way shape, or form throughout various Draft sites, fan / user create Mock drafts, and articles.

WR - Henry Ruggs III, Tee Higgins, Leviska Shenault Jr. Jalen Reagor, Justin Jefferson, Brandon Aiyuk.

OG/LG - Austin Jackson, Nick Harris, Tyler Biadasz

LB - Kenneth Murray,

Interior DL - Javon Kinlaw, Justin Madubuike, Neville Gallimore

CB - Trevon Diggs, Jeff Gladney, CJ Henderson

Starting to get more and more excited about the Draft with each day.

I would like to add Soloman Kindley of Georgia to the guards and Raekwon Davis of Alabama to the interior defensive linemen.

the saints could always use help at LB Wilson should be in the day 2 range

Senior bowl practice opened. Apparently Jordan Love killed it.

Mostly one-on-ones. Curious to see if he keeps getting this sort of buzz as the week goes on.

Jordan Love had a shot to be a first round pick going into the season. Was pretty disappointing statistically, but not any worse than someone like Josh Allen in his final year at Wyoming. Love and Cole McDonald are intriguing project QBs. NFL arms for sure, I think it will come down to throwing with anticipation and decision making for both of those guys.

I think by the time all is said and done if a team wants Herbert or Love; I think they will have to move up into the top 15 to get them.

I think the LA Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, and even possibly Tampa Bay are strong candidates to take Herbert, and Jordan Love.

Even though they don't come close to the prospects Burrow, and Tua are (IMO) Quarterbacks go early, and some teams will see potential; I see both Love and Herbert as guys that will impress throwing in their private work-outs throwing routes on air in shorts..

I'm ready for the Senior Bowl and beyond already. I'll be spending most of my Sundays watching videos on players who catch my eye.

Easy targets are guys like DeVonta Smith from Alabama. Great speed. Catches everything. And is a big play waiting to happen. Would do well opposite Michael Thomas.

Another guy on defense I'm learning more about is Hamsah Nasirildeen. 6'4", 216lbs. Sideline to sideline speed with hips almost like a corner. Imagine Obi Melifonwu but with actual instincts and a much harder hitter. It's like this guy was hand crafted for me to fall in love with as a player. Only flaw is he's coming off an injury, but that might be exactly what allows him to slide to the 2nd or 3rd day. I can see him lining up all over the place to cause trouble for offenses. He's not even a head hunter. He gets low and explodes through the ball carrier. Forced a few fumbles at Florida State.

Who is everyone else keeping a close eye on as we transition to the offseason?

Devontae Smith decided to go back to college for another year. I dont blame him. He is a bonafide stud, and will easily be their number 1 reciever this year.

He will probably be way out of our reach next year, but hopefully we won't be needing a WR next year.

This draft is loaded at WR, and have some of my favorite prospects ever like Justin Jefferson, Tyler Johnson (already made a post about), Leviskas Shenault, Henry Ruggs, and many others.

I would have to say my absolute 2 favorites for this Saints team is Tyler Johnson, and Justin Jefferson. Both are huge Scheme Fits. They both run clean routes and have soft hands. I personally like Tyler Johnson a little better. I think he is probably the best 3rd down WR in this draft. He has the perfect frame to take hits across the middle, and consistently shows that, that's a big part of his game. He dominated all year for Minnesota, and was a huge reason for their breakout year. Johnson is for real, and seemed to play even better when competition got stiffer. *See their bowl game against Auburn

I would be extremely happy with either one of those guys though

Tristan Wirf is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. If he somehow makes it to us. I think he is an All Pro guard and he can play either Tackle spot competently so he would be a great replacement for Peat.

Isiah Simmons and Okuda are defensive players I would trade next years first to trade up for if they fall to the double digits. Either one would transform our defense into a top 5 unit.

There are several WR needy teams directly ahead of us. Might be worth it to trade ahead of them to get the WR we want rather than be on the tail end of a run on WR.

I think Wirfs, Simmons, and Okudah are all Locks to go within the top-10; and even if they slip in the slightest they won't make it out of the top 15.

NFL.com DJ Mock
In Daniel Jeremiah's latest Mock he has:

Okudah going #3 to the Lions. Simply the best pure man to man Corner in the Draft, and the best corner prospect to come out since Jalen Ramsey. He's a complete package too, not afraid to tackle and come down and be physical.

Tristan Wirfs going #8 to the Cardinals. Has potential to be an All-Pro caliber Guard, just a nasty, mean, mauler.

Simmons going #9 to the Jaguars. Just an amazingly gifted athlete, can line up anywhere in your back 7.

I won't mind if there's a run on receivers before we pick.. because then we can just wait until the 3rd to take a receiver.. this class is plenty deep enough to wait; and that would mean since everyone was picking receivers a talent at another position fell to us.

i would be neat to see him with payton calling plays for him

The next Michael Lewis Beerman in the making.

It's going to be interesting to see if he is faster than Reagor and Ruggs at the combine.

How about trading Kamara and #24 to move up to get Simmons if he falls to about 10?

Not sure how confident I would be in trading up for a defensive player after what we did to get Davenport... and Kamara would probably be worth a 1st rd pick by himself?

Adam Trautman of Dayton is rising as tight end prospect, but if hes there in the later rounds we should grab him. There's not much of his blocking on youtube but I liked this quote when he was talking about the comparisons to George Kittle he's received when it comes to blocking:
“I’VE TOLD SCOUTS THAT I’D RATHER PUT A DUDE ON HIS BACK AGAINST HIS WILL THAN CATCH A TOUCHDOWN. THAT’S THE BEST FEELING AS A TIGHT END.”

While trying to find footage of Trautman I found his teammate might actually be better though. Ryan Skibinski WR 5'11 runs a 4.41, averaged 17 ypc. I know these small school prospects can be a little raw but I think he would be a great udfa addition like Deonte Harris who played division 2. He's not as highly ranked as Trautman but maybe when scouts attend Dayton's pro day it will change.
