Are there any overrated Saints? (1 Viewer)

I think Lattimore is a bit overrated. He’s a good CB and I’m glad he’s on our team, but I think he’s still coasting on the goodwill and notoriety he earned during his rookie season. I see a lot people say he’s one of the best corners in the league, but I don’t think I would put him in my top 10 right now.

Who is in your top ten ?

I know it’s not gonna be popular, but I would say Archie.
I know he’s a historic Saint, but if he was on the Saints now post Brees when the Saints are a known national brand, would he even survive?

I disagree. For most of the time Archie played for the Saints the few games they won was because of him.

Maybe you had to be there but Archie played on some woefully bad Saints teams. He played behind one of the worst offensive lines I've ever seen in one place at any given time.

If Archie would have ever had a "Brees caliber"team in all probability he would have lead the Saints to a Super Bowl.

Jim Mora - yes, he introduced Saints fans to winning but failed to ever win anything in the postseason. He (and Herbert) robbed the Dome Patrol of a chance to win a Super Bowl. Mora was smart enough to get all the talent from his USFL days then proceeded to waste it.

We all agree that there have been several Saints players over the years that have been underrated. Colston, Vaughn Johnson, and others stand out as players who have not received the appreciation they deserve from the league as a whole.

That got me wondering if there are any Saints players who are given more than their due nationally? Are there? I think Archie Manning might make that list, though I know that isn't a popular suggestion. Any others?

What purpose does this really serve? I don’t understand the intent of it. But so be it.
