Underhill digging at Swimmer and CP on Twitter (1 Viewer)

I know your not supposed to call out Mods in here but I sure as heck wish someone could provide a public explanation on this!?

it seems people are upset because a couple posters don’t like underhill. Which generally wasn’t what the thread was about. If the issue is that, deal with those posters, but to over reach and shut down a whole threat, a threat that 99% of posters were having an a AWESOME time using and taking, having fun. Well I dunno. Seems to me there is something Afoot and frankly I think with no explanation, Kill The Credibility Of This Site!

the more I sit here the more it makes me believe that someone just didn’t like Swimmer! Some people are allowed to run roughshod here and I guess some aren’t. Wow. Swimmer was a great poster here. this is a good way to lose a ton of members. Good positive members too...

Bingo.

There are 16 games a year. Each 3 hours. If we’re lucky, a playoff game or two.

So that means there are only between 48 and 57 hours of actual football in an entire year.

Anything beyond that is some level of speculation and projection. Even actual player acquisition turns into projecting how that player will do with our team.

I just don’t see any issues with people posting stuff they hear. Then leave it up to others to discuss or move on to another one of the hundreds of threads on here.

I totally believe Andrus and Dan in L about their respect and appreciation for Underhill. I get the feeling he helped the board along the way with info and he is very trusted by Andrus and Dan. In all the correspondence to me, the Burrow thread was never an issue. The next time Coach Pete gets some new Burrow info, I'll start that thread, but no Underhill conversation will be allowed on the thread.

Ok Swimmer.. I am so confuse with all this. What does Underhill have to do with any of this. The only thing is he had an opinion about the Davenport trade and posted on twitter. Someone here made a thread about it. To me...So what. You made a thread about the Burrow based on your friend and we all discuss it like all other thread on this forum. Doesn't matter if I agree or disagree with your take, it was a thread worth discussing. But what does a reporter who writes for another team but is a fan favorite here, has anything to do with this? I am confuse here.

Just go back a few pages and read.

Dude. You can throw a tantrum and scream no all you want but the reason you're here and not on any of the other defunct or low volume Saints fansites is because SR is reliable. Sites that are not not, dont last or get foot traffic. But please continue shouting "no."

So I am not throwing a tantrum, nor am I screaming. Why do you feel the need to disparage my response?

The reason I am on SR was because back in 1997? I went looking for a Saints fan forum, and ran into Iron Era. What really kept me coming back, under different handles, was the EE board, then the Politics board.

I hope SR never becomes the anything goes place you guys want it to be. It's never been that. Never. The places you are describing cant keep members even though they a purely forums. So screaming no will not make it true.

SR doesn't need to become anything. It already is what it needs to be, a site with a FAN forum where FANS can discuss, argue, speculate, prognosticate, etc all things Saints related.

If what you are looking for is "real news", from different professional (and not-so-professional) sources, the site also has a news feed.

Off subject, but can we get a /merollseyes like option? I like really really, ... really need this.... saves me deliberation time on my cigarette breaks....

Please and thank you ?

I read what Swimmer said about not "offending" Underhill because he is a friend of the forum. But what was offensive? Really this whole thing is baffling.
I hesitate to inject myself into this further (who cares what I think), but . . .

From what I can gather from reading threads, Underhill refutes Pete's timeline for when the Davenport trade was consummated and then Swimmer and many Swimmer supporters take offense and make defensive posts (in my opinion overly defensive posts). Then they start slandering Underhill (saying he is a hack, overrated, should apologize to the forum) - again just because he refuted one of Swimmer/Pete's assertions. Then numerous posters start bickering and the thread gets locked.

I really don't get why so many Swimmer supports and Swimmer himself got so worked-up about Underhill simply saying that the info was false (from his sources). It's almost as if the Swimmer crew wants to have the freedom to voice their opinions/Pete news (which is cool), but then don't want anyone refuting or disagreeing with their opinions/Pete news (see posts criticizing Underhill for even making his post and posts saying he should apologize).

The whole reaction to Underhill's tweet appears to be a massive overreaction. Given Swimmer's admission to actively trolling on the forum in the past, the whole thing is starting to look really fishy (IMO).

Whether or not Underhills ego was bruised and was the cause, he just lost a click from me on anything he might write. That’s how simple it can be. The board mods basically
screwed up by making a bigger deal than what it was. It would have just gone away on its own. Now we are on an entire new thread which is what I’m sure they didn’t want to do. Payback I guess.

Why do you feel his ego was bruised?

Nick has two Twitter accounts. One of which is his official account for his job which is covering the Pats. The second is a personal account for interaction with friends, many of whom are Saints fans. He still keeps tabs on the Saints, but it is no longer his job. Either way, I'm pretty sure he sleeps just fine at night knowing he has one less Saints fan to read his articles about the Patriots. Lol Just understand that it's your loss, not his.
