I haven't been watching games much this season. I was wondering how Jaxson Hayes has been looking? Does he have the potential to blow up into a superstar?

He has a ton of potential. He has played the most minutes out of any player in a year that he very well should've spent in the G League, which means there is a lot of good and bad on display.

He is super efficient in getting to the rim and finishing, and averages about .75 highlight plays above the rim per game.

He's making 63% of his free throws which seems low to me because I feel like looks very comfortable at the line and makes his free throws when I'm watching.

Still needs to add bulk/muscle and gets lost and/or shoved around on defense right now, but, I am very high on him for the long term.

I would say his NBA comp is Tyson Chandler with better offense but lesser defense.

I would add, kid has to develop some type of shot and post moves as well but that will come. He looks good. So does NAW. They’re just raw but I love their energy and effort. AMAZING.

Jaxon Hayes is who I wanted the Pels to draft before we won the lottery. The fact that we got him and Zion and NAW was mind blowing to me. I've enjoyed watching him step in and be productive. He looks pretty good for a rookie, but he is just still a rookie. I agree he needs to add a little bulk, but I like that he is quick and shifty and I wouldn't want him to have to change his game and get out of his comfort level.

If he can develop 1 or 2 moves that would be huge. Because Tyson Chandler played forever with nothing more than an alley-oop. But Jax seems much more coordinated than Tyson, and can handle the ball a little.

Should be fun to watch.

Hayes has a ways to go but I think he is going to be a good one. He has good shooting form for a big man...with some work he should be able to shoot 3s which would make him a great floor spacer. Other than that, he just needs to put on some muscle and get better at rebound positioning.

You can tell that, much like Zion, he just LOVES the game. If he has the passion for learning, he certainly has all the physical tools

He should have been guarding Lemarcus Aldridge all night. Aldridge did most of his damage against Favors . Hayes length and jumping
ability forced Aldridge to alter several short jump shots he was easily making against Favors. Hayes even blocked an attempted slam.

My main take from last nights game- We saw why Greg Popovich is a HOF coach, and Gentry isn't. Popovich has spacing down to
a science. They contest every shot on defense, and get an open look on offense nearly every possession.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Aldridge wouldnt have been shooting those tough fade aways on Hayes. He would have just bullied him to within 5 feet of the basket for an easy lay in. The player Gentry should have used more was Okafor. Aldridge ended up having 5 fouls, but Okafor would have definitely got that 6th since he's the Pels most skilled offensive big man,

Jaxson just needs to bulk up. Once that happens his motor skills should improve and then we can see some post moves. We got a small glimpse when about a month ago, he faked a hand off and dribbled behind his back to drive to the basket.

If that's his potential then the Pels are a certified dynasty contender in about 3 years.

Jaxson Hayes is the REAL DEAL. He's got all the tools, the hands, the fearlessness and the know how (he's always in the right place). He another who is picking up the NBA nuances very quickly and we are a force to be reckoned with all hands on deck.

I stood up from the couch and started cheering when I saw Jackson trailing on this play...

Jumped off the couch on that one

This kid is still growing. He has good fundamental shooting form for a big, so turning him into a stretch 5 should work. Other than that some bulk to help with the banging on defense and he will be a special player

My Jaxson Hayes watch continues. He played 4 minutes last night. Didn't even have time to break a sweat, but at least he was able to get off the bench. With playoff hopes quickly going down in flames, I sure would like to see more of him going forward. Get all the young guys working together.

I sure hope so. I know NAW has not looked good at all since preseason, but at this point, there is no reason not to play him over Etwuan Moore, who has been horrible lately. Same for Frank Jackson until last night.
