Saints What bummed you out the MOST about the Saints' 2019 season? (1 Viewer)

#3. Losing to the Vikings. They were a playoff team that got healthy at the right time, so it wasn't unbelievable to me, but the loss ended our season. Very disappointing.

#2. Losing to the Falcons. It was explainable. But I guess those kind of games seem to happen to all teams now and then.

#1. I was only able to go to 2 games this season. The Falcons and the Vikings.

Given the way the season started, I believe we were blessed to get to 13-3. We finished tied for our best regular season record. Also, with all the injuries, you have to wonder how DOMINANT we could have been. Oh, well...

To me, the most disappointing things about our season were:

1a. Brees lack of arm strength for the deep ball, and

1b. Finishing among the BEST in fewest turnovers, yet laying an egg with 2 giveaways in the Divisional round. We beat Minny, and I believe we'd be playing this weekend.

Would, coulda, shoulda... yeah, I know.

:gosaints:
You think Minnesota was the obstacle in our way of the Super Bowl?

"If we could have only gotten past that unbeatable Minnesota team....."

That's laughable.

End of the season when we missed a different fate by mere inches.

Followed by TE’s.

The 4th and 2 conversion by Kittle to beat us and send us to our impending doom. Reminded me of the TE that broke my heart in 2011. Vernon.

The TE that officially ended our season. Again with about 2 yards to go.Kyle Rudolph.

Minny was "an obstacle," not the obstacle.

I don't think it's laughable. We seemed to be looking forward to Green Bay; we came out flat.

Let me ask you this: Had we made it to the GB game, would you have said we had NO CHANCE? And taking it a step further... would you have written us off for having a chance to beat the 49'ers?

Laughable? :jpshakehead:

Losing to the falcons was huge and ended up costing us a bye.
Every season we don't beat them twice is a failure.
Falcons beat the 49ers so losing to the 49ers cost us more.

Mine:

1. Vikings loss
2. 49ers loss
3. Emmanuel Sanders (we should have went for him and gotten him, we would be playing tomorrow)

The day that both Rankins and Davenport went on IR I knew we had lost our opportunity to win a ring this year. Even if we had gotten past Minnesota, we weren't getting anywhere without the dominant pass rush we had all season long. It was carrying our defense and it was masking some real liabilities in the back 7. They were both also really good against the run.
Sums it up for me. Everything was going as well as could be expected until those injuries. We lost our strong rotation of defensive linemen when they went out. Keeping defensive linemen fresh is very, very important, especially at the end of games.

Totally agree with Loose....The injuries....when both Rankins and Davenport were put on IR I knew our chances of contending were not good. I did not expect our OL to shat the bed against Minny though...

Oh and Kirkwood out all year really bummed me out....

Stop me if you've heard this one before...

Giving up on the RUN!!!

(And, surprise, surprise, the DEFENSE not doing their job - esp at the end of games.)

ETA: I'm getting tired of the Saints D being the Posters Boys immemorial for FAILED PLAYS: Beast Mode, Minny Miracle, Kittle Kalamity Kanter

Definitely losing to the Vikings AT HOME!!! It would have been easier to accept losing on the road to GB or San Fran.

Getting out coached in the wild card game againt Vikings and the ENTIRE o-line getting beat. Not just Peat but all 5 of them.

1) The team coming out completely unprepared and flat against Atlanta after the by week.

2) The team having no answer to stop a 49er offense after having 10 days to prepare.

3) The team coming out completely unprepared and flat against the Vikings int the Wildcard playoff game...at home.

See a pattern here?

I'm with him. Consistency.
