Article Anzalone back to full health per PFT article. (1 Viewer)

Did we ever find out if this last injury was the same shoulder as the previous ones?

Having trouble finding anything on his injuries other than he's had them.

Regardless, Thor obviously needs to learn to arm tackle.

If he can stay healthy, he's a difference maker. I wish there were some kind of super special shoulder pads he could wear, b/c once a LB hurts a shoulder, it's not that hard to mess it up again. Here's hoping Anazlone is comeback player of the year next season!

Never good when coming out of college the negative on the player is staying healthy, then following that up with not being able to stay healthy the first two seasons. He’s a decent player when he’s on the field but he’s an injury away from being a distant memory.

2013 - Freshman year at Florida was cut short because of a shoulder injury

2014 - Played in every game as a reserve/special teamer*

2015 - Earned a starting job, but season ended early due to a shoulder injury.

2016 - Season ended early due to a broken arm.

2017 - Rookie season ended on IR

2018 - Played every game as the starter and was very effective. * this is the outlier*

2019 - Season cut very short due to... a shoulder injury that landed him on IR.

As a starting LB, Anzalone has only made it through 1 of the last 7 seasons without ending up with a season ending injury. **He was healthy his sophomore season at Florida, but he was a reserve and played STs.**

This is crazy. Some players simply don't have the bodies for football. It makes you appreciate iron men like Cam Jordan even more.

It has to be a Technique issue, where he's putting way more force and trauma onto the shoulder than necessary when tackling ball-carriers.

It's going to be difficult to re-program players who have been playing this game since High School but there has to be a way he can change up his technique this Off-season to drive/explode more with the hips, and take stress off the shoulder during tackles.

It’s totally true. The history of sports is filled with insanely talented athletes who’s bodies couldn’t handle the physical toll of the sport.

Anzalone, Peat and Armstead are just a few the Saints have on the roster right now.

In my youth, I was in no way, shape or form an elite athlete but I had a passion for football and baseball. However, I could never go more than a game without an injury that would put me on the shelf for days or weeks.

My team and coaches always knew they could count on getting my best effort — but the couldn’t count on me to be healthy enough to play consistently.

It stinks, but all the talent in the world is meaningless if the player can’t be depended on to stay on the field/court.

He should consider retiring IMO. An LB with a f’ed up shoulder is simply no bueno

I wonder if he can catch. Maybe he should tryout @ TE. I dunno but I see no future for him @ LB
