In my entire life, I have never seen anything like what is happening right now...

Late night TV shows with no audience.
All Professional and College sports cancelled
Broadway cancelled
Schools Cancelled
Concerts cancelled
Parades Cancelled
Festivals Cancelled
Store shelves emptied
Travel to and from the USA closed
Wall Street sellouts..
Restaurants Empty and closing, some for good
Almost mass hysteria.
The loss of revenues alone is staggering.
Toilet paper shortages...
Americans told to stay indoors and not go to work if you are sick.

I can't even think what to compare this to..

Will the mail still be delivered? Packages?
Food to the stores, Gas to the gas stations?
Will Movie Theaters be closed?, or empty?

This is beyond amazing and something that I wonder how it be looked back upon..
Is this the Black Plaque for us, a mutated virus that's common to man, or an overblown media event?

Is this a wakeup call for mankind and us as humans globally?

So much to think about... I don't know if I can even explain it... But I have never seen anything like this ever.

Does anyone see where I am coming from and maybe why I didn't put this on the virus thread. Amazing.. It's almost incomprehensible.

I wonder what the world will be like tomorrow when I take my mother out for Lunch on her 77 Birthday...

I agree Joe. I think martial law is coming and I’ve never seen that either.

Thanks Hump... This is incredible... And the country cannot even unite against a common enemy...

They keep telling us to stay home if we don;t feel well... But is that for us and the benefit of the sick? or the other Americans not infected?

At the rate things are going... I would not be surprised to see us getting close to Martial Law... I think that maybe if this crisis is on a limited scale of time... As in we beat the virus, warm weather helps kill it.. We will be ok... But if it lingers.. We may be in for some real problems...

I agree Joe. And I’m of the belief that it’s fear mongering and hyperbole. I also believe it’s hoped by half of the country (leadership) to weaken the economy and thus take Trump’s greatest success away from him hindering re-election. I know that will be unpopular but it’s my belief. Regardless I hope it is not as scary as we are being led to believe.

And yes the country is more divided now than I’ve ever seen it. I don’t see a moderate/middle anymore. At all. Scary.
Edit:

And I’m no leftist or right wing person for that matter. I think both sides are nuts. In their own ways. One is scarier than the other to me but both suck. Just my personal observation and opinion.

Humm.. I have to admit.. I am not worried about the divided politics... But the Directed media yes I am...

But for some reason this virus really concerns me.. Could it be the hype?.. No.. I don;t think it is... I think it is more a common sense in me that a pandemic could actually do serious damage no matter what the media reports.. Virus' don't follow TV scripts..

I remember the movie the Andromeda Strain, about a virus from deep space. That's really not science fiction... and the term Biological warfare... That's a Non fictional thing..

I cannot stress enough that I have serious concerns about this...

Can you imagine if the Saints played football in the dome and the Fans were not allowed to come? Is that life? Is that enjoying life?

I tell ya... I hope this passes soon, because I don't that home in the mountains yet...

I get that Joe. I do.

And I have that home on top of a mountain. Remote. You’re welcome to come ride it out. ?

Let me put this another way... What historic things have happened in our recent past that comes close to this if any?

9-11
Vietnam War
Cuban Missile Crisis

I cannot think of anything like what is happening now.

To me, the issue doesn't warrant the drastic reactions we are seeing. People are out on all sorts of media throwing around misinformation, sensationalism, political spin, doomsday projections... you need to navigate through a lot of stuff to come to some valid information.

And I am not saying it isn't a serious matter, not at all. But I think we are overreacting to it.

I tend to agree. And obviously hope I’m right.

What ever will you do without Capitals hockey?
