Amari Cooper a free agent (1 Viewer)

It's interesting to me that Amari Cooper is known as a great, Pro Bowl WR but he's never had 100 catches, never had double digit TDs, and he's never gone over 1,200 yards. Here are his career highs:

Rec - 83 ('16)
TDs - 8 ('19)
Yards - 1,189 ('19)

Just to put those numbers into perspective, here are Michael Thomas' career lows:

Rec - 92 ('16)
TDs - 5 ('17)
Yards - 1,137 ('16)

Cooper has a chance to sign a deal in the same ballpark as Thomas. I don't think he'll be worth it.

Exactly! I'd draft a guy before paying for Cooper.

The local guys here in DFW say that the 'girls are working on a deal to retain him... doesn't mean they will, but they're trying.

Cooper is a slot weapon that we need but can't afford. Probably better off trade for Hopkins, but he'll most require a 1st and a defensive starter.

While I approve your stats, but when it goes to the best footwork of WRs, Amari and MT are the two best in the game. It’s all moot point bc they will never play together in their prime years.

And also cost way too much.
Anything more than a 1st and a player is too much. Texan are in draft hell and want a king's ransom for a WR that's still elite paid. Honestly, it's a lose lose..

It be different if Hopkins was on a discount deal, but he is make an avg of 15 16 million per year

He's a very solid but not elite WR. He's probably going to get paid like an elite WR, so...no. Much better money spent drafting a few WRs and thinking about a guy like Cobb or Emmanuel Sanders in FA.

This. Exactly this. A lot of players are paid elite money but only a handful are actually elite. It's comforting to know that we happen to have the most elite of the elite.
