Anybody know of an attorney who can represent me in a dispute with my health insurance? I am more in the Baton Rouge area, so an attorney in this area would be ideal. Commuting to see oniswould not be a lot of fun for me right now, but if that is what I have to do I will

Bump to help a brother.

I don’t know anyone in Red Stick unless Zeetes will take your case.

I wish you luck though. I have some that I just never resolved and yet I have between 800 and 819 credit score. The reporting agencies have downplayed their role. I realize you may have more riding on it though.

zeetes representing the yet to be represented representee? hell yeah! i'd gladly try out being an attorney.

i tick most of checklist: i read sr all-day, have a terrible work ethic, i'm already an arse, and i wear a fake smile.

I have no idea where you got that view of what lawyers do.

Better Call Saul. All joking a side, good luck with that Dago. Insurance companies have some great lawyers, wouldn't want to be in your shoes. Even if you win your case, you will feel like you lost. They can drag this out for years. I hope you find your resolution.

if its BCBA of LA , home offices located IN Baton Rouge, you will want a change of venue ;)

Yeah i am pretty much screwed. Its a company self funded policy which means it goes to federal court

I would give a call to these guys: https://dplawla.com/practice-areas/

I'm not sure if they do this kind of work, but they can probably refer you to someone who does if they can't. A friend of mine clerked for them and they are good people. In addition, the guy who founded the firm is now a Federal District Court Judge in Baton Rouge which can't hurt.

Maybe your insurance company can meet you half way, or work with your doctor? Not sure what your going through, but there may be other options. Is this about denial of coverage? If it's about unpaid medical bills, some medical offices may be able to lower your bill. I called a medical office and got my bill cut dramatically by calling them to find ways of lowering it.

I need a procedure done that my insurance has deemed 'investigational'. Problem is that they approve it for others with no problem
Its been through appeals and the doctor they chose for the peer review was not even qualified. She was a pediatrician
Edit: it has been approved by the FDA and used since 2004

That sucks man! Maybe you can change insurance companies at the end of the year and get it done next year, if it's not life threatening?!?! I hear of people going to Mexico and just paying cash to get stuff done. Insurance companies are difficult to deal with sometimes. You ever hear of the saying about HMO's? Have Money Or (die)?!?! If you can switch to PPO, that's what I would do, if you don't have private already. I have paid cash to get stuff done and some doctors will work out finance options with you. Try to look for solutions is what I'm getting at.

Never been a problem before and its thru my wifes work. I am guessing the price would be $110,000+

That sounds like a good reason for the insurance company to deny it to me. Insurance companies are businesses too. Maybe talk to health coach, or a friend who is a doctor/nurse, and they can help guide you. You can PM me and tell what procedure your wanting, so I can get a better understanding of the situation. There might be a doctor on the Saints Report they may know how to get it pushed through. Some doctors know how to get things pushed through, better than others.

Insurance companies look at your age, the benefit of the medical treatment, and the cost. If these things don't balance out, they make business decisions. If you own a business, you like to keep your money, and not spend it. It's that simple. From what your telling me, it sounds like it's not life threatening, and it will have little benefit of your overall health....Is that right?
