Saints sign Emmanuel Sanders! [MERGED] (1 Viewer)

As far as I’m concerned, the Saints just won free agency.. Well done Loomis, well done indeed!

I see a few people mentioning Sanders as a slot guy, but he is primarily an outside receiver. Over 85% of his career snaps have come on the perimeter, including over 70% just last season.

Pumped about this, I really can't think of a much better compliment WR. A not to add is that the number 3 WR will be playing a lot of special teams too, so that could be Krishawn Hogan or Harris. Then E.Butler etc. will be fighting for reps as a 4th, or backing up the top guys. With this addition I don't see drafting a WR as a big need, maybe a TE that can block and catch. Then we can make use of him.

This is the guy we have been missing for many years, since Meshow Cooks was traded.

Wow, fantastic. It's worrying to see Sanders is 33. But then the guy I watched driving the 49ers to the SB didn't look 33!

Still need to go BPA, and if that's WR at 24, so be it.

I think that's a bit over blown, maybe 20 years ago 33 was old, but with modern training he's youthful. Didn't he have one of the fastest return rates after the achilles tear ?

This signing is a lot like the Jenkins one. With many other younger options available; we signed another vet with proven locker room leadership.

For one, I think he will be a real role model for our newest diva, MT13. His knowledge of the game will rub off on some of the younger guys like Smith and Harris, all while busting coverages and scoring TDs from the best QB in the division!

The main reason I’m so happy about this signing is because we are now one LB away from having virtually zero holes in our roster. I’m really rooting for Alex Ogletree, Darren Lee, or Reggie Ragland, respectively. Not that any of those guys are game breakers but it would sure up our LB corps until the draft where we can get Queen or murray. I definitely see a savage in Queen; his instincts are off the charts and he flys to the ball. With Davis, Anzalone, Alonso, one of the LBs mentioned above and somebody like Queen in the draft I really don’t see any holes in the roster

The guys we have kept, along with the additions we have made (don't forget about the Janoris Jenkins acquisition at the end of last year as well), makes this arguably the best roster we have ever had, on paper. If Brees can give us one or two more good years, watch out.

I'd still like to see us add one more LB, some DL depth, WR depth, and maybe one more RB, but we are looking GREAT as far as our front line starters and overall leadership.

Imagine if peat got what he deserved instead of a mega deal

Yeah, still trying to figure this one out. Don't quite understand it. I see his value as a swing tackle/guard and guy that knows the system, but the deal seems excessive for his skill set along with his injury history. I trust the front office, but this one is a real head-scratcher.

In 2018, he was in the slot 48% of the time and he had over 850 yards receiving.

Last year he was there 23% of the time because of switching teams and still had a productive year.

He can do both very effectively. He gives us a slot option we haven’t had since Snead, only a lot better.

Love this pick up. This will surely take some of the pressure off of Michael Thomas and give Drew another weapon. They going all out for Drew in his last year. Love it, love it, love it!
