Saints sign Emmanuel Sanders! [MERGED] (1 Viewer)

Yep. Move dem chains. We aren’t an over-the-top offense anymore, so the more reliable intermediate weapons, the better.

I think we’ll draft a player with over the top ability. but I completely agree...Sanders is a perfect fit for the offense. I don’t suspect he’ll have a huge statistical season because all of the other weapons but he’ll help win games.

I learned a very long time ago that even picking a player position in the draft is foolish, much less an individual player in the first round.

As an LSU fan, I'd be very disappointed in that selection with Jenkins in the fold for at least 2 years and probably 3.

Safety is going the way of the running back in the draft, rarely seeing a first rounder being picked.

Didn't say it was my preference, but word is we're completely enamored with Delpit. Need? no. Value meets pick though. And we've seen our team accumulate a ton of DBs before.

Personally, at this point, seeing what we've done in Free Agency, I'd go for a LB, QB, TE, WR, CB, OL, or DL... pretty much anything other than safety. But like I said in my first post. My gut feeling tells me Delpit is in play.

Why would we want a SS who struggles with tackling when we currently have two SS who can tackle? If we get a safety it should be someone to replace Marcus Williams at FS.

If they draft Delpit, that would be the reason. Marcus Williams has 1 year left on his deal, and if he's up and down and they feel Delpit is BPA they have a rangy Single High Safety waiting in the wings. They've drafted for a year ahead before. (Ram when Strief was still on the roster)

I'd still prefer a boundary CB, (Henderson or Gladney) LB (Queen) or a WR to groom for the future as BPA.. but there was a lot of rumblings from people at the combine that the Saints were showing A lot of interest in Delpit.. he was one of the Saints staff first priority interviews in Indy.. so don't rule it out.

I honestly think Delpit is going to fall out of the 1st round. But I also have heard the problems he had tackling was because he was battling a nagging shoulder injury.

It is possible that a team that gets him in the 2nd got a great bargain, it is also possible that he is not the player he was hyped as being....time will tell....

I want BPA at oline, dline, lb, cb, qb....we also need a good young TE but they aren't typically worth 1st round picks....

Of all the available FAs, how many had Emmanuel Sanders as their #1 priority? Not just a WR2, but Sanders specifically. And now he’s ours!!! Mickey is killing it.
I did.

Once I found out he was a FA I wanted him bad! I would have been so disappointed if we didn't even try for him. I'm really really really happy!
