For comparison we signed Jenoris Jenkins for $10M which is fair market for a starting CB. That is more valuable position than in the box SS. Loomis set that position at $7.5M which again I think is fair market. If Bell thinks he is as valuable as a starting CB then he misjudged his value and the market. He will have to play for less money on a one year deal which is risky and try to negotiate a better deal next year. Ego factor says he won’t come back to NOLA as that would be major humble pie.

Looks like the hole was filled with CGJ, Jenkins and Swearinger. I would assume we'll do like we always do and draft a DB or two as well.

I don't think they are going to resign him, just like the idea of paying our own and his play in the run game is very strong. I'm always worried about injuries as well. Another reason, I doubt we sign him is because we could easily be drafting another safety as well.

I would bet a lot that we will. We always draft a DB, usually high.
This is a really good draft class, I'm excited to see what we do....however that actually transpires

Vonn Bell and Marcus Williams do not play the same type position. Williams is frequently a deep safety... Bell most often lines up closer to the LOS.

Today's safeties need to be versatile. And Vonn has shown the ability to be in the box or closer to the LOS... as well as dropping into Cover Two and handling deep coverage in over the top routes.

While it's true he is relied upon MORE to be a Strong Safety, his numbers while in deep coverage were also pretty decent. If he was only a "one trick pony," he wouldn't be in demand.

Yeah me too...it has to be his agent asking too much or maybe an injury no one know about? But I am thinking it is just what he is asking for.

I just have a feeling the Saints will miss his play down the road. MJ is a stop-gap, Bell is a turnover machine...I don't like getting rid of young players that are on an upward trajectory. But what do I know
