Does Ted Ginn Jr. make the 2020 Saints roster? (1 Viewer)

No... Saints will take another WR at 24 (if they don't trade up or down)... Ginn is done... Probably will retire.

If nothing else, he knows the offense and he doesn't seem to have a problem running clear out routes to move a safety and open things up for other receivers. I could see us bringing him back, but thankfully as a #4 or #5 WR like you said.

This will likely depend on what we do the rest of FA and the draft... or on the development of Harris and TQS.

I like Ginn over Tommylee regardless.

You're probably right. My hope is that the Saints draft two WRs...one early and one late. There will be late round WRs who will become serious contributors because the overall depth of the position in this draft. That guy may not contribute a ton this year, but it could be priceless if and when Sanders hangs them up.

WR2: Sanders
WR3: draft pick
WR4: Harris
WR5: draft pick vs TQS. If TQS wins, then the draft pick hopefully can either be kept on as a #6 WR or make it to the practice squad. But either way it's a good problem to have.

Ginn comes back if there are injuries.

TQS strikes me as a guy without much confidence. Remember the Emmanuel Sanders interview when he was talking about CGM that they both have a "dog" mentality? Well...TQS doesn't have a dog mentality. He very rarely fights to get to the ball...the guy struggles significantly getting separation. If you can't get separation...you will struggle to be a productive NFL WR. Maybe the lightbulb goes off this year...but I'm not making plans around him. I'll let him beat out legit competition first. In this draft I feel confident that we can find a WR late who has more potential and better WR skills than Ginn, Butler, or Lil'Jordan. Hogan has shown to be a capable blocker but really nothing as a receiver...and he looks pretty stiff. Harris is clearly a roster lock and he'll be one of the Saints top 5 WRs...you can write that one in ink.

Fair enough. Gonna pull for all these guys. Not pulling against Tommylee... simply hoping we have too loaded a WR room to keep him this season. Same for Austin Carr. I believe both are still in the building.

When Taysom gets the deep balls a bit more on a rope rather than lofting them into the Dome lights, THEN the downfield game comes back.

Thank you. Too many people think that the only thing required for the deep ball is the arm to launch it. To be frank, Taysom’s deep ball hasn’t looked appreciably better than Drew’s. TH’s may be more due to not getting timing down as opposed to arm strength and accuracy, but it still floats in the air and lands short of the receiver.

That would be a big no as a player, but I could see him as some type of coach. Granted, we all know that he did not have the great hands, but certainly was/is a quality type player. He just did his job and was rarely hurt.
