Controversial music takes (1 Viewer)

The Foo Fighters sound is diarrhea to the air waves. The sooner people realize this, the sooner ears will be unharmed.

The most frustrating part of this, it's all Dave Grohhl's fault....And he has no excuse at all. Dave Grohl's faults all the way! He grew up playing in a D.C. punk band, than graduated into Nirvana (you heard of Nirvana right?) where he played next to Kurt Cobain, Krist Notgonnaremberhowtospellhislastnameselic, and The Germs lead singer. Dave Grohl has proved with out a shadow of doubt, with enough money, anyone can sing in a famous rock band....And I mean ANYBODY. He has set the bottom in vocal skill and maybe only Yoko Ono could be considered worse.

Dave Grohl cannot sing, he is probably the worst singer I ever heard on the radio. He is really bad, so bad I feel all Nirvana albums should put a disclaimer on all cd's they sell in the future. One like, we are truly sorry about the Foo Fighters, if we had known this was gonna happen, Kurt would of more likely hired Patty Schemel for drums.

On second thought, it could be Dave is just a terrible song writer. His song writing just couldn't cover up his soul less vocal tones. Yes, I know he may of gotten some song writing credit on In Utero, but Kurt Cobain could of probably made any song into a hit or at least pass for a musical master piece.

I think having a female on drums with Nirvana would of given Nirvana a different vibe and more importantly, no Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl is incredibly talented drummer, but the Foo Fighters belong in Dave Grohl's garage, not on the radio.

I'm leaving evidence down below. Please be warned you may have negative side effects after watching the video, such as...Blurred vision, eye pain, severe depression, coughing up blood, bloody stools, pancreatitis, high blood pressure, sleep problems, acne, slow wound healing, headache, and nausea. This is not a complete list of potential side effects of listening to The Foo Fighters, so please consult your physician before viewing.

Just remember this guy was in Nirvana.

thought I would sum that up for you so the message can get out to those short on time today

Dave Grohl cannot sing

I’ve had some time to do some thinking.

And I have decided that I have time for three James Taylor songs: Country Road, Handyman, and Carolina on My Mind.

The rest of them can fork off.

Thank you for at least understanding what I thought was a fairly simple thread concept.

As for the rest of you numbskulls . . .

Megadeth is better than Metallica because Mustaine never became a sober "artist" or made a horrible black album or one picturing semen and blood.

Overruled
Sweet Baby James and Fire & Rain

Sweet Baby James album was one of young guido's beanbag chair/curly cord headphones major albums

I liked Metallica's black album. It was all downhill after that until their most recently released album imo. Never really got into Megadeth, although I do like a bit of their music. Personal tastes I guess. Heh.

He has become a sober artist though it took many tries to do it.

I likely phrased it wrong. Yes, Mustaine is sober, but, no, he didn't become a "sober artist" as so many do and then become more interested in mixing and technology and art rather than aggression.

Not that there's anything wrong with sobriety it's just that it seems in the music world to coincide with commercial success becoming more important than whatever got them there in the first place.

Everything since the first note of the black album has been pretty lame.

While I don't disagree that the things that made Metallica and other artists great in the early is linked to the rawness and edginess of their music, I do think you can only do that for so long because that sheet does take a toll after a while. Sometimes people have to change if they're gonna survive. That Metallica is still drawing massive crowds and actually doing decent to great shows speaks to their staying power.

That said, to each his own, :hihi:. I love the black album. I like AJFA better, but still great. I'll admit that after black was mostly meh tho.

Their latest album is pretty good.

Agreed, best since black, maybe even since Justice. I haven't listened lately, so I'm gonna have to set it up. My old iMac died, and haven't replaced it, and I need new headphones. Earbuds aren't loud enough, so I need the full sized over the ear ones to get the most out of the sound. That and I can feel more bass with those.

I'm still quite a bit fuzzy on what this thread is about....what am I supposed to post?

This might actually be a controversial take on my part, I like their album with Lou Reed called Lulu. It's pretty different but I like it.
