The food supply chain has yet to be interrupted, thankfully. But reading some reports, where food production workers are starting to get sick. That is why everyone needs to abide by isolation directive. Food production workers need to get out and buy groceries and medicine as well. They really need to be aware of how to be protective. If it becomes where we start seeing food shortages, because of loss production due to workers getting sick, we will have a lot bigger problem, than just the virus. No food, or significant shortages, think about the big picture. The virus will become secondary and all hell will break loose.

I suspect at some point, unfortunately, there will be incidents where armed people will start showing up in ER’s demanding treatment, because they are afraid and were told they cannot be helped. That is one of my main fears ATM, outside of potential food supply shortages and interruptions. This could get really really bad, beyond where we are right now. If we go 60 more days like this, I can only imagine. Very worrisome. There is a lot of potential for chaos.

If we are all still in isolation at the end of April, then what you mentioned above is pretty much a given.
And the longer the pandemic goes on, the more likely the virus will no longer be the top story.

Exactly Bill! That is truly my longer look ahead concerns. There will be breaking points, but we just don’t know when those points may be, if this does not begin to reflect a flattened curve. The flatened curve needs to start showing up within the next 14-15 days, for people to feel like the mitigating measures being taken, are beginning to have positive results. I think if we do not begin to see a positive turn in the next 14-15 days, that is when we may start seeing people simply becoming defiant, in more ways than we could imagine.

Chicago Tribune: Indiana health department reports 31 deaths, 1,232 COVID-19 cases as Lake County sees first fatality.

"Late Friday afternoon, the city of Hammond announced that its first employee had tested positive for COVID-19. A Hammond police officer has tested positive for the virus, Mayor Tom McDermott Jr. said, while two others who were in close contact with that officer were sent home.

The two other individuals won’t be ordered into quarantine, he said, because the city can’t afford to lose first responders at a time like this."

McDermott is currently running for office to replace Pete Visclosky in Congress.
What does he do when those 2 infect 2.2 more first responders each and then those 2 infect 2.2 others etc etc? His plan is flawed and short sighted. Will not end well.

I’m sorry if someone posted this already but this really hit me.

I wonder why she removed it? The Nursing board, Ochsner executives better not have bullied her. Yes the bullying is happening

Shelly Hebert, a legal nurse consultant in Shreveport, said she had spoken with two nurses there who were threatened they’d be fired and reported to the state nursing board after they raised concerns about working in coronavirus units without sufficient PPE.

Not New Orleans, but...

Perfectly good doctor that they fried. People should remember that hospital and find out who pulled the trigger on the fire.
