Saints among 6 teams who’ve connected with Jordan Love (1 Viewer)

If he falls then it's a good thing we did our homework.
If we take him in the 1st with all of the other talent sitting there I will throw something at the TV.

Looking just at his highlight videos, he leaves a lot to be desired.
I'm not going to sit here and pretend I watched any of their games, but he looks like an "all or nothing" , "1 read and go" QB. His stats seem to back that up.

A lot of the TD passes I'm watching are sure fire Ints at the next level.

Can't say I've watched a lot of Utah State games. I have seen some say Love could be the next Mahommes. If so I'd certainly like to have him.

This is the hardest thing about quarterback scouting. What they're doing in college is looked at as all they're capable of. Like QBs from a read option type team. All a college team wants to do is win and you don't need the Saints level offensive complexity to do so.

So hard to figure one way or the other, what works and doesn't.

One thing though, I'd rather have a QB who isn't afraid to throw into tight, sometimes seemingly closed windows. In fact, that's a key trait for all elite QBs in the NFL.

Oh definitely, and who's to say he can't be coached up quickly.

To sum up my opinion. When I look at a QB like Burrow I see someone that's not afraid to throw into tight coverage.
When I see what I'm seeing with Love, I see a QB that throws it up and prays to god someone comes down with it. A lot of back foot throw it up and hope your WR goes and gets it.

At the end of the day, too many variables to say one way or the other though. He's a good prospect, but we are a team that is looking for Drew's replacement.

If they think Taysom is that guy and need a young QB to develop then that's great, but I wouldn't waste my 1st rounder on him, not with all that WR and LB talent.

He really had a bad junior year with a pretty untalented squad. He forced a lor of bad passes in lieu to a 20:17 TD:INT year.

A lot of people are focusing on his sophomore year. He is built like a Foles. A one/two read QB that doesn't properly go through his progession, but a master playcaller can put up a great smoke and mirrors show.

He got talent, but i guess what the scouting department is trying to figure out if he is coachable or was his Sophomore year just an anomaly.

If the Saints draft Jordan Love in the 1st round, I will be very disappointed. Not only am I not a huge fan of him as a prospect, but that pick would mean all of the talk of Taysom Hill getting a legit shot to lead the Saints was a blatant lie.

Jordan love could be the next Mahomes or Jamies Winston. Physically, he is insanely talented and athletic. Can make all the throws including long bombs with touch. Creates havoc for defenses with his feet.

There's 2 questions on him which make or break him as a franchise QB: 1) Does he have the football IQ to comprehend and mentally adjust to the Pro game? 2) Is he a real leader of his teammates?

If SP thinks so, I'm all in
