Imagine if BountyGate never happened? (1 Viewer)

I'd say wed have 2 and went to another but in this what if scenario are we also taking out the no call?

No way they were gonna let the Saints host and play in. SB. They had to totally decimate the team to make sure
And that right there is the reason why Rog & co. did that. They knew the Saints had a legit shot to host it that season. Well, probably. It's probable.

We'll never know. I know for sure, though, that we should have had at least a few more since 09, and specifically in the last 3 years. I'm glad we got the one, but dang. Sooooo close to having more.

We should have at least 3. That b.s. lil roger pulled was criminal. I get irritated just thinking about it.

Even before BG, me and a few friends were saying that there was to much revenue to lose if a host team went to the SB, especially for hotel bookings.

No, they didn't.

The defense already wasn't particularly great..........and the offense had essentially zero chance of repeating what it did in 2011.

Can't believe there are people out there who think Roger Goodell had this intense fear of a team who had never up to that point even won a road playoff game going to such extremes to ruin their season........when all he had to do was allow their defense to take the field a few times. The guy is a useless commish and generally not a likable guy, but I strongly suspect some people overestimate the amount of thought he previously put / currently puts into the Saints.

We would've won 8 straight Super Bowls, not a doubt in my mind...

But yeah, the event formally known as "Bountygate" was nothing but a farce.

The league needed a scapegoat to look good in the face of the CTE lawsuit.

Bountygate was the fabrication of the league, a disgruntled former employee (who was fired after he wasn't where he claimed he was), and an irresponsible media who was more than happy to screw a team and its fan base for ratings.

Bountygate did happen; but only in the halls of the league offices and in the imaginations of hacks like colon cow pie.

Had the Saints won more they would have been drafting lower and might not have ended up with the great players they got in the last few drafts. That’s how the NFL works. Hard to sustain deep runs into the playoffs over a long period of time. Combination of Belichick, Brady were great, no doubt, but that division was absolute garbage for last 20 years. There are about 5-6 organizations that would have had great success had they been in that division, including Saints. Don’t get me wrong maybe not as great as Pats but would have won numerous Super Bowls with home field advantage all those years.

At least two titles.
