This is just sad

Made a video as a PSA to people to either don't go out if you are sick, or cover your cough, and dies two weeks later.
This is America. We'll do what we want.

That has to be one of the saddest things I've seen.
?

We're not going to see any of those days in our immediate future, since he clearly views these press briefings as his way to affect the narrative and public opinion.
My take... since he obviously can't travel and convene his idiotic scream fests around the country, he's using the daily briefings to keep his orange-dyed face in the public's eye.

I don't mean to be a debbie downer, but will things only be back to normal when we have a vaccine? It seems that this thing wont just 'go away' and bars/restaurants/events etc won't be open until then. And if were talking timeline..maybe a year?

Look i hope im wrong. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can provide more insight.

Not necessarily. There hopefully will be treatments that can help people survive and recover. It would be great to catch it early enough before it causes pneumonia, because from what I understand, that's what leads to fatalities.

The question I guess is how close are we to these possible treatments becoming viable and widely available.

True..The thing that keeps me hopeful is that because we are so profit-driven in this country and this virus standby stuff is killing that -- there at least will be extreme urgency to get back to a pre-quarantine state :)

Vaccine, treatment that knocks the seriousness way down (perhaps except in the very old), or it running its course, which means 2/3 of the world getting it and the associated consequences (millions of deaths globally) that would come with that.

Only three ways this thing stops. I'm hoping for the treatment option, because the vaccine is a year out and the third option is awful.

Yeah, I'm no fan of Trump. That's pretty well known here. That said, I agree 100%. The media are really not asking the right questions. It just feels like they're looking for a way to make him say something stupid rather than getting at the real issues. Meh.
I think the reason why at least the way I see it the press is asking the questions that they know the answers to so that they can trap that idiot into contradicting himself. Which happens all the time, but the minute someone of intelligence stands up to the podium then the questions become relevant. Common sense tells you that the longer you stay away from people the less the virus will spread. Why does it take an act of Congress to get this point across to the masses, like I stated in my previous post November can’t get here fast enough.
