Flying into DFW. Anyone have recent experience, since Abbott imposed his mandate, for Louisiana residents? (1 Viewer)

*Not based on experience.

What's supposed to happen is a Texas DPS agent will screen for air arrivals from the covered areas (including Louisiana) and you will get a form where you agree to the 14-day quarantine and provide an address where you will serve it. They have the right to spot check your presence at that address. The form is below.

Whether they will actually do that? No idea.

Thanks very much. In this case, will be flying in Thursday evening, staying overnight at a friend’s house, then driving out/leaving Friday morning and returning home to New Orleans. Dallas will not be final destination, only a stop over by one way flying in and for less than 24 hours at that. So in this case, it will be a self quarantine for the lesser than the 14 days.

Just curious, why are you choosing to fly at this time? Especially a driveable distance like La to Dallas?

Not judging, but (not knowing your personal circumstances), it seems like a risk.
I will put it this way. To help someone move here that is a medical professional and will live here permanently. There is an act of sale on a home here and their lease in a condo is over. It was all planned back in December. Very unfortunate timing, to say the least, believe me. Now you know.

We have a friend that flew in from Chicago, which is on the same quarantine rules. They had her fill out a form that included the address she will be at and police have gone to the house twice to make sure she was there in the last 5 days.

That is a good thing!

That is a good thing! I will be in a bed for about 9 hours then on the way back. They can come check and no one will be in the condo and it will be emptied out.

The one thing about your plans that I'm not sure about is whether they let you do that kind of turn-around - because you're not really quarantining. You're going to someone's house and then going back to the airport.

So for example, if you agree that you will be at X address for the next 14 days and they come there in four days and you're gone, are you in violation? I'm not sure, you might be. I just don't know how that works under the order.

I think Super meant they’re driving back to NOLA, not flying. Moving a friend to NOLA.
