that Brees won't keep all of his records before Mahomes gets them? If he retires before Brady, that will happen. I'm very nervous about next year with the Bucs. I'm worried that Brees will not get a second. But if he doesn't, I want him to have those records!

Brees' records will be broken. League going to a longer season and becoming more and more pass happy. It's going to take a while though (unless Brady plays a year or two after Drew retires). The toughest part for a future record breaking QB will be longevity.

Longevity is key. The one thing Brees (and Brady) has going for him is that he operated without relying too much on mobility. Even Aaron Rodgers is fading because he can't scramble like he used to. Most of the young QBs right now rely pretty heavily on escaping the pocket and outrunning defenders to create plays. It gets harder to do that when you are 35.

We'll see but I think a lot of these QBs will have to adapt their game to play into their 40s.

Brady will be able to break Brees' TD record within a season after he retires, and he's going to be chasing him next year.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's close. We'll have to see how much Brady can get this year. That assumes Brees doesn't play in 2021 of course. I'm not too bothered about it. His yardage record will stand for a while. His comp% records are pretty solid also. He'll be all over the record books at #1 or #2 for a good while.

every person i've ever heard interviewed about records has said the same thing, records are made to be broken. I'm sure Drew will feel the same. I do think that Mahomes, if he stays healthy, will break a few of his records for sure. He's that good.

Brees records? I'm not worried about them, i mean it's good enough that he got them while playing for the black and gold. Records are meant to be broken in sports. As for Mahomes breaking them though, he could but he could also get hurt at some point in his career and fall just short of breaking them. I mean it'll be fun to watch it play out even for me whoever steps up and challenges brees greatness.

Both of your recent threads are concerns about other teams "possibly" getting better. When the roster is as good as ours, I don't worry much about what others are doing. I feel like we have improved in the areas we needed for short and long term success. Try to enjoy "our" roster.

I doubt Brady lasts a season once he starts playing in a division that's way more competitive, and home field advantage isn't as good as it was in NE. He couldn't even catch Brees last season after the injury. Brees threw still 3 more TDs than Brady did. He's on the decline way more than Brees is. Some of Brees records will fall one day.

This exactly!! We'll find out how good Brady still is in a division that won't represent half a dozen or so glorified scrimmages.

No doubt that Brady is one of the all time greats but his records and stats were greatly enhanced by the fact that he played in a pretty soft division most of his career...……...no matter that the east coast writers are quick to defend him by saying that the AFC East was a very competitive division.

Having records over a Super Bowl?

Records were made to be broken. Just be thankful you got to see Brees do what he's done. Who cares how long they stand?
