This year it seems like Tampa has won the offseason with the additions of Brady and Gronk. Im pretty sure after the draft there is going to be a lot of Super Bowl talk regarding the Bucs. I would say to those prognosticators they need to slow down. To go from where they were last year to being a superbowl contender is a big leap. This team still has a porous defense and Brady and Gronk after all are past their primes.

This situation sounds similar to Cleveland with the exception that Brady is a proven winner. just no one knows how much there is left in the tank. For certain this team is a playoff caliber one but they still have a long way to go in becoming the complete team that N.O is. What are your thoughts regarding T.Bs resurgence?

The Offseason Championship rarely leads to success in the real season. I can only think of a few teams who made a bunch of splashy additions and did anything. The Rams made it to the Super Bowl after winning the offseason a few years ago. The Eagles won a Super Bowl after making a bunch of splashy moves. But it didn't work out for all star teams like the Deion Sanders/Bruce Smith Redskins, Dream Team Eagles, Browns, etc.

Now I'm not going to sit here and act like Tampa Bay isn't going to be good. Right now, on paper, they have an absurd amount of weapons in the passing game. But they have question marks just like everyone else. Can their O line hold up? Will they have a running game? Will their pass defense improve enough to win shootouts?

If you take away Jamies Winston and all his INT's, they pick up 3 or 4 more wins. This team is now the main challenge to us to win the division. Scary.
But how many more times does TB12 get sacked than Winston.
Winston is bigger and more athletic than Brady.
Plus Tom has never thrown a pass to Evans or Godwin. Receivers and QBs need to get their timing down to be effective. And this isn't a normal offseason. Tampa may get 12 wins this year, if this experiment works. Then again, it could blow up in their face and they lose 15 games.

Tampa isn't as scary as they are being made out to be...

Mike Evans has already shown a temper when he doesn't get his targets, and Lattimore has shut him down recently.

Godwin is trying to play for a huge contract, so he will want his targets.

Gronk will want his, as will Howard who is also playing for a big deal.

Brad's arm will fall apart mid-season with all the pass attempts.

They have no O-Line, and they are lacking on defense.

They will score some points, id say they will average about 26 PPG, but they will give up 28

Tom Brady would guide a top 5 D1 team to a 8-8 NFL record. Actually, he wouldn't. But to suggest that TB would have even a losing season in the NFL is ridiculous (not even commenting on that 1-15 silliness). This TB team is now better than some of the scrap parts Patriots teams that have won SB's.

It’s also worth adding that Winstons 30 INT’s (!!!!) did not do that defense any favors.

NFC south gonna be competitive as ever this year. Everyone got better.

Only thing i worry about with bucs is the refs, the golden boy always gets calls his way and we all know the nfl is not scared to screw over the Saints

Guess where the SB is in 2021? Yep, Tampa Bay. Imagine those headlines. The NFL would love to write that chapter in Brady’s career.

Wonder if this changes our draft plans; instead of another WR, maybe more pass rushers or help in coverage.
