I am disappointed to read & hear some of the cruel comments that MJ made along the way, and shocked, actually........but it goes with the territory, I suppose???

Just like that story Shaq told about talking to Kobe Bryant about never sharing the ball, and Shaq said, “there is no ‘I’ in team.” And Kobe replied, “yeah, but there is a ‘me’ in that #%^*€#%!” So Shaq went back to the other teammates and said, “you are going to have to catch it on the rebound, he ain’t passin’ the ball”. ???

And it happens at age levels you wouldn't expect. My son has been playing soccer since he was 7, starting in rec, then club, middle school and high school. The trash talking really ramped up in middle school and club levels. In one game I saw one of his teammates bow up at an opponent, and my son say something to the opponent too. Then they start chasing the ball down the field and my son and his teammate absolutely wipe out the kid. Like steamrolled him and I was thinking what the hell was that all about. They both got yellows. After the game he told us the kid called his teammate the n-word(kid was from Nigeria), so they taught him some manners. I was like, "huh, good job".

Yes, there is. In HS I played catcher, pitched a little and first base. By college I only played first base and I missed nothing about catching other than being able to talk sheet to the batters and anyone who could hear me.

I swear I once made a parent come unglued out of the stands my senior year in HS by being so far in her son's head. She was so upset by what I was doing to him that she actually complained to the principal of our school. My coach, a former big league pitcher of some merit thought it was awesome. He told me that a good catcher is as important to a pitcher as 4 days rest.

I can’t even imagine.......

My dad raised us to be competitive swimmers & never ever ever ever EVER did I hear cruel words spoken or racial slurs among swimmers or coaches.

In fact, I think kids are so lucky when they can play sports and be a part of a team & then meet all varieties of different kids from other races, religions and backgrounds.

I guess it is a lot different when you have little guys competing in hockey/soccer/baseball etc, especially if their parents are fanatics & crazy.

Then at the professional NFL/NBA/NHL etc level, I guess because the competition is so fierce, the tension is at a whole different level.

However, Drew Brees is a perfect example. He has had a stellar career & is a great player. And he does not play, acting like a ****head. He plays with class.

Twenty-two years ago, I said that the two Jerrys were IDIOTS for breaking up the Bulls dynasty and now it's been reaffirmed. Jerry Krause was basically the short, fat, unpopular kid in high school who suddenly got a lot of power and had no idea of how to handle it.

Jordan has always been my favorite athlete and watching the first two episodes strengthened that; his almost psychotic will to win was/is unmatched. Him willing the Bulls to their first playoffs with him when they weren't supposed to make it, even after the franchize was trying to keep him away from the court due to an injury.

Scottie was absolutely robbed by that contract, 5 chips, arguably a top 50 player of all time, the OBVIOUS Robin to Jordan's Batman and he wasn't even top 5 in salary on the team...terrible.

I can't wait for the remainder of series.

It was a totally different NBA back then (late 80's even into the 90's). Common fouls back then would be disqualifications and game suspensions today. Most of the great players were trash talkers and intimidators and most of them didn't like each other (at least on the court) and that often got physical....IMO today's NBA is no where near as intense, much of the physical play has been eliminated...

Both my boys played soccer, HS and high level travel....there are all kinds of things that go on that shock parents who weren't athletes at some level....throw in an incompetent/hungover ref and things can get ugly....quick....fortunately we only had a few matches like that....

I go to church with Danny Ainge’s nephew. He said that Danny Ainge story isn’t the half of it. The very first time they met was on that golf course, and since then they have been best friends. Whenever MJ goes to Boston or Utah (or when Ainge goes to Charlotte) they get together for 18 holes. Ainge has won more money off of MJ than he cares to admit, but they get along very well, and MJ has been at each of Ainge’s kids weddings (and vice verse).

OMG this series is so well done!

Kudos to the producers who worked at breakneck speed to put this thing together, so that Americans would have something to watch during this “sports drought”

“And Jordan is on fire!” These players were just amazing!!! It was cool to see MJ & Magic in a big bear hug, even though, the Bulls beat the Lakers.

Then Jack Nicholson tried to hug Phil Jackson after his Lakers lost, and Jack looks like a little midget.

Not a fan of Phil Jackson, but you have to give him credit....his substitution patterns were really on point, of course having great depth helps but he knew who to put in...when....

I was reading a story last night that came up on my news feed, about him. Even though Jackson is low key now & stays out of the limelight, he is very helpful in mentoring other coaches, that want his help.

Nick Nurse, from the Raptors, went to see Jackson at his place in Montana, and he ended up staying for 3 days!!! They went over film, discussed different problems etc etc etc

Doc Rivers was just in disbelief at how calmly & how well Jackson handled some incredibly precarious situations.

Never liked the Bulls, was a Celtics/Bullets/Wizards fan....Also couldn't stand the Lakers....not a fan doesn't mean I don't recognize how great he was....
