Reaction to Taysom and Winston deals (1 Viewer)

Saints have been preaching Culture, Character, and team chemistry.

Then they sign this guy.
With the Sexual Assault and Rape Allegations.

So I guess you don't like Carl Granderson either since he was accused even though they didn't pursue it I think.

Can anyone give a quick “readers digest” version of their thoughts? I’m not trying to give all of those jabronis clicks.

They seem hopeful and positive. A lot of pundits like this signing for how low risk and high reward it is.

Character issues are the only negative and it's the only thing WE as a fanbase can't stop talking about therefore making this signing look worse than it really is.

Lemme guess, these are all the media hacks stuck inside an echo chamber repeating that Sean Payton has been misleading everyone including Taysom that he will not be Drew's successor..denial is a river in Egypt

Right but this could be a maturing action for Jameis. He was a National champion, Heisman winning number #1 draft pick. He was on a high I'm pretty sure of it and he had some immature actions so now that he doesn't have that anymore may be he's starting to see that "it's real". Knowing that and going to Saints for that "2nd chance" could be the thing he needs. Mature QB that will show him different and a coach and staff that will work with him. Good culture to set him straight.

I mean...we can't all of the sudden be dismissive of his assault allegations combined with "crab legs", "eatin' a Dub", multiple suspensions, and general tomfoolery just because he is a Saint now. There's been a lot of heavy smoke coming from Winston, and it's been self-inflicted. He's been a problem, period.

Is he redeemable? Heck yeah he is. He has a great opportunity to start wiping the slate, but he needs to lay low, work on his game, and be a better citizen than he has been. Time will tell, and since we're not putting anything close to all of our eggs in his basket, his upside warrants the risk.

As far as Granderson is concerned, his "incident" is a far, far cry from Winston's incidents. It's been beaten to death on here, but public records suggest an adolescent who just reached a little too far into the cookie jar that was sitting squarely in his lap and it happened to have a bad outcome. If he hadn't been a future NFL player, the incident might not have ever come to light.

they signed him for a minimal vet contract FOR ONE YEAR. they didnt give him some lucrative deal. if he squanders this thats on him. sounds like he wants to be a better person given he didnt chase the money. maybe he's matured? hes a 26 year old kid, i remember myself at that time, i did some dumb stuff too. if following a known hall of fame QB and possinle a hall of fame type coach for a year might shake him up enough..
