First off, re-sign Eli Apple. We need another guy here, and he has starting experience. He knows our defensive scheme too. To get him, we need to create some salary relief, and that will be done when they either trade, or cut Warford.

Next, sign either Taylor Gabriel, or Demaryius Thomas at WR. Both are big guys. Gabriel is younger, and has played in the NFC South.

Both of these guys would be huge upgrades to who we have on the team now in depth. Our starters are 1st class, but we need guys that can come in and contribule.

One final spot to consider would be at LB. This would be a coup for me. There are some pretty good ones left on the Market:

  • Nigel Bradham (30 - Eagles)
  • Aaron Lynch (27 - Bears)
  • Alec Ogletree (28 - Giants)
  • Mark Barron (30 - Steelers)
  • Bryce Hager (28 - Rams)
  • Corey Nelson (28 - Broncos)
Most likely not possible to get one of these guys, but it would make things interesting.

Taylor Gabriel is 5’7 and 170...

I still wouldn’t mind him though. And Ogletree

Agree that bringing apple back would be a huge lift to our depth. CB depth is the only remaining thin spot on our team... unless davenport really does miss part of the season. In that case another DE would be important, although we really havent even made any depths moves at the position, which leads me to think the coaches expect him to be ready

I agree. CB is definitely the biggest whole on our team right now - at least, depth wise.

IDK but LB is a huge position of ifs and maybe. If Alonso is recovered, if Anzalone can stay off IR if we can transition a rookie from 3-4 to 4-3 coverage backer. At least at CB we have PJ and P Rob going into the season. We need a solid Vet LBr in a major way IMO.

I’m for bringing back Eli as depth. Don’t really care for the others. I’d rather keep Warford. Strief said if Warford comes into camp in shape, he’s not losing his job this year.
