I included a 6th man. Between injuries and jumbo packages, they'll likely get around 50% of the year's snaps. Also lets us know what kind of cuts you might be thinking.

Edit: Feel bad for mis-spelling Ramczyk's name but well it's not an easy one.

I’m hoping the line will look like this since we can now keep two extra players. I just doubt we end up with both Warford and Easton on the roster. Hopefully Easton is the one to go and we replace him with Tom or just run with 8 total offensive lineman. I want to keep Warford as our 6th offensive lineman unless we get a good draft pick for him. If it’s a 5th, 6th, or 7th I rather just keep him to be honest. This could be our last hurrah, so let’s keep the best players this one last year

LT: Armstead
LG: Peat, Easton
C: Ruiz, Clapp
RG: McCoy, Warford
RT: Ramczyk, Throckmorton

I hope Peat has a monster year, but I think we can't put on the rose colored glasses. Some of the negative tendencies that scouts said about him... are STILL HAPPENING! :covri:

Size/Athleticism: Elite size but athleticism is limited. He’s has some physical traits of a left tackle, but he’s probably a safer pick on the right side.

Pass Protection: Quickness is a not below the ideal level and may cause him to struggle with some of the dominant edge-rushers in the NFL. Fundamentals are lacking in pass-pro. Tends to get lazy and bend at the waist. Doesn’t finish off as many blocks as you’d like. Gets lazy and commits too many holding penalties.

Run Blocking: A mauler in the run game. Has the lower body strength to drive his man backwards. Lunges a lot when working at the second level. Shows questionable awareness at the second level and when working to the outside on screens.

:gosaints:

Strief said a key this offseason will be how the Saints deal with Warford in the final year of his contract.

"Larry came in a little heavy last season and that didn't sit well with the coaching staff," Strief said. "Now, it is the final year of Larry's contract. Larry's 28 years old going on 29 in the prime of his career, and if he is in top shape and he is healthy, no one on this team will beat him out of that right guard starting spot.

That's a lot of interior lineman to keep. I'd drop Clapp to get down to 8... unless they can find a trade partner for Warford during/after camp once we know what Ruiz can do.

I kept it with Warford due to the nature of this virus and limiting team activities this year. I could easily see either scenario and even a Warford cut.

Since the Offensive line works best with consistency, I went with

TA, Peat, McCoy, Warford, Ram (Ruiz)

unless Ruiz just flat dominates in camp and pre-season which he may I think the Veteran starts over the rookie at least for a few weeks.

I slotted Ruiz in for McCoy at center. That's mainly with the thought that he can do a better job making the line calls. That was McCoy's weakness from what I heard and Ruiz's strength. That's projecting a good bit for a rookie admittedly.

I agree with continuity. Not sure a position switch for McCoy plus a rookie at center would be the best idea for this o-line with Brees trying to make one last push. Like you said, maybe later in the season if things aren't working out or if it's just absolutely clear in camp.

Armstead Peat McCoy Warford Ramcyzk (Ruiz)

Next year Warford leaves, McCoy slides over to RG, and Ruiz takes over Center. I think a lot of people just want to see the high pick start whether or not it’s best for the team.

Have to agree. Unless we outright cut Warford, I think he gets first shot to keep the job. Of course, if he gets outperformed, it’s a no-brainer to switch the guys up.

Armstead Ruiz McCoy Warford Ramcyzk (Peat)

This is what I'd like to happen, although McCoy and Ruiz could be interchangeable, I'm not sure which of the two is actually better suited to playing Guard than the other.
