Joker (1 Viewer)

That is exactly what one of my buddies said, who saw it last night. He said it was action packed from start to finish.

BTW........his son had a bunch of rings on, so they stopped him at the entrance to ask what all the rings were for. He said, “oh, I just wear them for decoration.” So they said, ok, & let him in. The guards were thinking they were brass knuckles or something???!!! Geeeeeeeez

I know I'm late here but the movie was NOT action packed. It was much more of a slow burn type of movie. There were several violent scenes spread throughout the movie but no where close to being an action packed movie. The ending was excellent though. It's still not a movie I'd want to watch a lot because of all the setup towards the big ending.

I watched this last night. As someone who is really not invested in the whole universe of these.characters, I really enjoyed it. That said, I can see the criticism that it is hard to imagine this character being capable of orchestrating any sort of genius planning.

I don't think this was intended to be a "Joker origin" story, as some sort of franchise with Joaquin Phoenix. At least I would be disappointed if that was what it was intended to be. It was a one off and a certain take on the Joker, that tried to capture an aspect of personality (criminal insanity), while simultaneously humanizing the character which hadn't been done in film since Nichoson in Tim Burton's 1989 Batman, but Nicholson's Joker was an ordinary criminal who suffered the stereotypical "transformative accident".

It is a contract with Ledger's Joker, who came off as an impersonal force without really any origin or background.

There is also another theory, is Joker wasn't any one person, but kind of a movement. Joker was notorious for dying and coming back to life. (See TV tropes Joker Immunity), and one theory is that Joker didn't really come back to life, so much as another person would take up the reins when the old Joker died. The TV series Gotham also had this same take.
