I'm happy to see Payton speak up on his Twitter today and a lot of our players have as well. Makes me happy to cheer for this team.

While I would like Brees to personally say a bit more since he has the biggest platform of all, I'm content he at least posted something today too.

This isn't a political post. Just simply an act of acknowledgment and appreciation to all the players and staff who are speaking up for equality and the end of racism.

Has to pander.

Exactly! Shawn Peyton needs to focus on coachin' footbaw and not telling me how to feel about the murder of black dudes or ending racism (fake news) or equality (already exist) or how to vote in ocktober. He should be watching film on how to create more mismatches against a cover-2, amirite?

It is a political post. However it just shows this organization has character.

it's not
OP did not advocate for any political position
he highlighted players and coaches who are talking a socially responsible position
the police are not a political entity anymore than firefighters
...
unless you are saying that "don't kill black people" is a political message
i hope you're not saying that

The voice of reason has appeared. Thank you for being present. You are appreciated.

I gotta chime in with this.
I love how New Orleans is and should be the example for the rest of the country.
Protests: police threat it like a parade and chaperone, it never turns violent.
Celebrity involvement: Gayle Benson forms a coalition of Pelicans and Saints players.

I have always said New Orleans is actually a melting pot and should be recognized as an example to the United States

It very much is high-character, but I also find it funny how people who preach black lives matter always refuse to acknowledge that black cops kill just as many black people as white cops do. It's always the white ones that get news.

But that's irrelevant, right? Everyone just wants a reason to break things and rob small businesses clean. I'm a firm believer that hundreds of people starving themselves isn't front of a police station is a lot more damaging than sending it up flames. But that also means no free shoes. 🤔

Edit:
Proof 1
Proof 2
Proof 3

Clown me all you want, the fact of the matter is that cultural bias is real and it exists for a reason. The news proves my point for me. "Justice 4 Floyd" written on the wall of an empty Gucci store on Rodeo Drive. Not enough? How about guns being stolen from cops, cars being flipped and set on fire, or even destroying an innocent CNN headquarters to 'prove a point'? That's no justice. It's literally Rodney King all over again, and clearly nothing was noted from that. It didn't work. Hate begets hate, and the same could be said for the opposite.

This isn't protesting, it's an excuse for violence and looting - all while creating another spike in COVID-19. Violent protests have historically never gone anywhere, and anyone who uses the minimal examples history has to offer as a counterpoint are clearly trying to convince themselves. As someone who grew up with a gay sister surrounded by very anti-LGBT Baptists and currently dating a trans woman, I've attended many peaceful (because nearly all of them were) protests for LGBT rights/marriage and guess what happened? They got everything they were protesting for (within reason), and without using violence or looting as a 'means' to an end.

Feel free to applaud what are essentially criminals, that's completely your prerogative, but don't think you're above those who are willing to call out the completely busted logic of a 'movement' cloaked behind Black Lives Matter, or their "Damn right disgusting takes". Especially when you're supporting the destruction and vandalism of already struggling business, innocents being hurt by pointless riots, or the insults hurled at the thousands of good cops for one bad one. Must feel good.

Tbh my friends sister was raped and beatin' last night all for sitting in her apartment. The " Protesting " was gathering in her apartment complex and people started breaking into the residents rooms. She was attacked by SIX black males, not those little cry baby Antifa kids. Thank god , it isn't to bad out here in Vegas because one of her neighbors called the police and supposedly arrived in drones and caught the idiots in the act.
While I'd love to say what happened to these piece of work's , this isn't a forum to go into that kind of detail but they deserved it.
She is in the ICU at valley hospital and fortunately, from what I heard, was just recently taken off a ventilator.
This better make the news.

future historians will note that this is where the thread spiraled out of control
