Finally tried one today. If I have covid-19 in a few days I'll know where I got it. Every employee had a mask on their chin. A couple actually cover the mouth, but no nose cover was had. Typical Popeye's service as well so there's that.

The sandwich was pretty good. Once the sodium clears my system in a few months if I'm alive still, I'll get another.

I'm almost ashamed to say I've been eating at least one a week for the last couple of months. Normally it takes me some effort to get to a Popeye's, which serves to moderate my intake, as the closest one to my house is a good 20+ minute drive. There is one a couple miles from my office, but I normally take the train into downtown, so to get there I have to walk or take the (infamous) Colfax bus.

However, for April and May they turned off the parking meters downtown. On days I needed to go to the office I could drive in and park on the street right by my office in the morning and then drive back and forth to Popeye's at lunch to order a spicy chicken sandwich (along with an obligatory apple pie). Like I said, I'm almost ashamed of how often I did this (but just almost).

Anyway, the meters are back on, but it was nice while it lasted.

I was eating one a week once I discovered that the one of Canal Street seriously had their shot together. I never waited more than 8 min or so.

I so long for the availability of this sandwich to be what we are talking about again. Good times.

Is it just me, or has this sandwich gotten smaller? Maybe, it's just the one located near me, but the last few times I've gotten it, it looked more like an over-sized slider.

Mine was a very good size. Definitely bigger than a slider. Was full for the rest of the day. didn't even eat dinner that day cuz I wasn't hungry enough.

This morning, I was regretting it. Spicy Popeyes impacts my digestive tract in a way that limits my intake pretty well.

I miss the old McDonald's fried apple pies. I think they switched to the mushy baked ones about 30 years ago -- kids today don't know what they're missing!
